  1. This thread has made me want to get a GK head again. Did enjoy my time with the MB Fusion. So, I looked at eBay. There’s a Fusion 550 on there at the moment ffs 🤦🏼‍♂️ 😅
  2. I’ve used Newtone, Status Hotwires, LaBella, Fodera and D’Addario on my various 32” basses. All good, my favourites for tone are probably LaBella but they are hit and miss at getting the right string lengths in the packet 😅
  3. Those settings look so similar to my standard setting too!
  4. Bought a COG T-47 from Paddy, dead easy deal, great comms and great pedal
  5. I said to a colleague earlier "this land of milk and honey we were promised has turned into a land of nail bombs and snot". Weird (and completely inaccurate) analogy but I like it.
  6. They absolutely haven’t sorted the backlog. Things are taking 2+ weeks to get into my company from Poland and a Germany still. It’s a flipping nightmare.
  7. That’s a bloody good price from Hexham! GLWTS, a bargain
  8. The Ner-wob-am Status Quo 😃
  9. I agree with the sentiment here. Ultimately Leppard (pushed or enabled by Mutt...) wanted to expand their sonic boundaries and to do this the drums and bass being programmed gave them what they wanted. Pyromania has a Fender P all over it if you listen closely, it was only Hysteria where they went completely overboard (in a good way) with the Fairlight. Doing what’s right for the record is all that matters in the studio, so long as they can recreate something close in a live environment. And they can. Sav is a good solid bassist and actually if you listen back to early live recordings had a lot more movement in his lines, certainly on the first album and tour. Maiden are a different prospect entirely so it’s understandable why they wouldn’t want to program the bass and drums
  10. What a shame, you seemed so happy with it! Can’t you return it under the 14-day distance selling rules?
  11. Not a lot! The newer EVO II model is lighter and has the cool black fascia. The EVO model has the chrome fascia. That’s about it I think
  12. #pedantaltert - not strictly true. Slang (1996) was alive instruments, I think most back tracks actually played live together. And bass has (supposedly) been played rather than programmed on the last couple of studio albums. FWIW I rate Slang as one of their best albums, it showed that despite Pete and Steve being gone they could still write some great songs, albeit not Ner-Wob-Mm 🤓
  13. It's funny that this came up as I realised about a week ago I was pouring over Def Leppard's "Early Years" boxset, with remasters of the first two albums (High'n'Dry is still my favourite record of theirs) plus lots of hidden gems from early singles, radio shows, Reading festival 1980 and even better, their entire set from Oxford whilst they were on their 1980 headline tour. They really were a great young band and aren't the same without Steve Clark and Pete Willis. Whatever you think of their other output those first three albums were great.
  14. Both he and Sav seem to like dying their hair a weird straw colour and it just looks... stinky poo
  15. Bag lady 😂 spot on hahaha They always claim their vocals are completely live and having seen them both on this exact show and 3 years previous I can say he was certainly in far better fettle here than 2015. Personally think his voice hasn’t been great since .. well ever if we’re being picky 😆 .. but it’s not been this good for a while.
  16. Yep I think the lack of gigs is making second hand sales completely rotten these days. I concur with everything @franzbassist sez
  17. Adds top end zing, apparently like a fresh set of strings! Trace had it on their last Gibson-era heads

  19. @skelf has had to put up with a lot from me over the years, all my commissions have had that slightly irritating “Martin” quirk, not to mention my excellent ability to turn on a sixpence and change my mind. That’s meant a lot of back and forth over specs - I think there are at least two Finns I’ve shelved for something else (the Skelf, for example, was originally going to be a Finn). Whilst my basses may have quirks, until now none have been a “first” in the ACG book (except possibly the reverse headstock on the Skelf?) Last year, however, I think I broke Alan when I flipped what was going to be a black Finn into a completely different shape and a colour not yet seen on an ACG. He’s nearly finished it, and oh my word has he excelled himself (as always). The crayon colouring in particular is in the realms of “quite good”. Here are a few in progress shots for your delectation; I think you’ll all agree it’s going to be quite the special bass 😎
  20. Anyone use these? They look quite handy as a space-saving way of propping up instruments but concerned they may not be so good with offset bodies like a Jazz or more extreme shapes. Any thoughts? https://www.andertons.co.uk/guitar-dept/electric-guitar-accessories/electric-guitar-hangers-stands/planet-waves-guitar-rest
  21. Yes. It highlights quite how stinky poo I am!
  22. Boss OC-2 value... Any ideas? (Asking for a friend!)

Cheers @Kev - turns out he doesn't know because the base plate with the serial number has been replaced. It's on Facebook for £100 with offers, I reckon £75 may be more realistic based on these replies :)

Our new Bartolini Emerging Artist friend @Sibob may be the only person alive capable to telling the difference without it! :D

Some older units will have the serial in the battery component, but if it’s just a Taiwanese Octave, yeah....£75 maybe. That said, missing baseplate, £50-£60 🤷‍♂️
