  1. These are really good and can ape an SVT tone for home practice really nicely

    ABM600 Settings

The valve drive in the ABM 600 is different from the earlier models. It has a lot more overdrive on tap and can get pretty gnarly if you push it hard enough with the input gain too. Certainly if you compare it with the valve drive on my EVO from 1999 it would feel like it has a lot more drive and dirt
  3. My Finn 5 has it too actually!
  4. It is. I’m not sure of the design thought behind it but it is very comfortable to play. Perhaps it’s a belly contour for when I’m striking a pose similar to the below 😀
  5. They are class D, most definitely
  6. Oooh me likey
  7. Yep, gorgeous. A good friend of mine was in Argentina recently and almost, almost, brought back a black one of these for me. We decided after working out import taxes etc it was going to get silly. For reference they’re about £1400 as a base price. They are gorgeous!
  8. Oh just gorgeous. I do love a black and maple P
  9. Just weighed all my basses. None are what I’d call heavy (heaviest is 8.2lbs) - the TKO is 7.9lbs
  10. Happy birthday! Great bass
  11. Yep. Haven’t weighed it but it’s not far off my Finn 4 or Zoot Funkmeister which are the two lightest basses I’ve got.
  12. Thank you 😊 This is number 4 (or number 6, depending on if we’re counting two I’ve sold as well) 😳😳😳
  13. Weird, @eude and I were talking about Billy Gould's tone last night! Love that Zon
  14. It's absolutely perfect. No neck dive at all. No idea how Alan managed it!
  15. Hamer Scarab:
  16. Feel the need to show off my latest in here. It’s exceptional.
  17. Strictly speaking this arrived yesterday, but I spent all day either in (virtual) meetings or annoying the neighbours with badly played Faith No More. So here it is. ACG TKO Classic - a non-standard model with a new finish Alan’s not done before - I think we can all agree he has done a bloody marvellous job. This was commissioned with a little inheritance I received following my final grandparent dying last year, and arrived two days after a good friend from Univeristy - who was a sometime-luthier - took his own life. He would have loved what Alan has created here and I will cherish it for both the memory of all my grandparents and Kieran. Not to mention cherish it because it is so damn good to look at and sounds exactly as I wanted - big, ballsy and huge but with a nice soft politeness if you wish. Limba body with an ash top, ash neck, rocklite board. 30.5” scale. Passive electronics volume/tone/pickup select including series and parallel options. Single coil in bridge, reverse P in neck. Immense. (Photos courtesy of @skelf)
  18. Happy (belated/early) birthday! Lovely bass
  19. It’s fecking marvellous. Impeccably put together, the grain is lovely and subtle but stand-out at the same time, if that makes sense?. Massive sounding, but also got that sweetness of the PJ set up in parallel mode. Plays beautifully, as you’d expect of an ACG. Just a shame about the bloke wot’s playing it really 😀
  20. Soon to be with me, this gorgeous ACG TKO Classic:
  21. Single coil in bridge and P-type in the neck. So a standard PJ really it’s just with Alan’s bespoke pickups it’s not so obvious I think this is going to blow my socks off when it arrives
  22. ‘Tis almost ready. Alan has played an absolute blinder here. Cannot wait.
  23. Close. Or not 🧐😆
  24. Name the band and song: Everybody's here Puke stinks like beer This could be a city This could be a graveyard You stole my idea You stole my idea Everybody's anxious For the coming of the crisis The collapse of the justice I can smell your armpits You stole my idea You stole my idea You stole my idea! This puke stinks like beer Come on come on come on Let's lay waste to this century
  25. ACG Skelf and Zoot Funkmeister
