🤣 should I be offended or worried that I’m so transparent 🤣 The Spyder 550 is a superb amp, absolute bloody wonderful. I just couldn’t justify that and an LB30 and an ABM and a CTM100 and an RM800.... I don’t have enough gigs for two amps let alone 5. If money were no object I’d have another in a heartbeat. Anyhoo, in other (related, honest) news Mark Gooday found three B-Social amps today too, and they are going for a bargain price. I k is there was a lot of negative press on her about them when they launched but the price point of these three is really bang on I’d say. In fact I say so enough to have reserved one 😳

The whole spec at the bottom of the page is wrong... White hardcore aged finish? I think not

I was considering the LB550 but realised it makes no sense: My RM800 does small, light and loud and the drive circuit does a very good valve-esque bloom My LB30 and CTM100 do valves, neither are particularly cumbersome. My ABM has a valve drive circuit in the preamp which sounds pretty good too. I have no gigs even without lockdown. Don't therefore need a small light loud valve-preamped head. Can't believe I'm being sensible. Oh well, off to look at some bass guitars instead. Sanberg Lionel, ACG, Marooooschick etc here I come.

Not received the email myself Probably a good thing though 😂

Why oh why did I follow that link 😫😂

That’ll be a separate set of stuff I suspect, not sure they’ve built any of these yet and I’d expect them to be on the Ashdown reverb store not an Italian store?
-
Mark Gooday posted on Facebook about it. Seems like he’s using the lockdown time to build these himself from the various boards and bits they’ve got lurking. They’ll be on the website “soon” he says. Keeping my eyes peeled 🤓😳

Me too. Cannot justify the one they're building at all sadly. You get first dibs

01 Ever played a gig sitting down? - Yes 02 Ever gigged on a different instrument? - Yes 03 Ever shared a stage with a musical hero of yours? - No 04 Any fan ever had a tatoo of your band's logo? - No 05 Ever signed an autograph in a dressing room? - No 06 Ever cried on stage? - No. Well. Yes, after the gig finished. Teenage hormones got the better of me and I was whizzed odd with my performance. 07 Ever worn a hat on stage? - Yes 08 Ever gigged with a band you hadn't met before the gig? - Yes 09 Ever been in a relationship with a fellow band member? - No 10 Ever played in different bands on the same day? - Yes 11 Ever had anything thrown at you while playing? - Yes. Thankfully it was a bra from a lovely young lady, not rotten tomatoes 12 Ever crashed on the way to the gig? - No. Flat tyre doesn’t count? 13 Ever left a band over the choice of set list? - No 14 Ever slept in the venue despite it not being a hotel? - No 15 Ever been supported by a band clearly better than you? - Always 🤣 16 Ever played a gig suffering from some debilitating medical condition? - Yes 17 Ever been in a band where the guitarist was your favourite bandmate? - Yes 18 Ever played in the grounds of a stately home? - Yes 19 Ever injured yourself on stage? - Yes 20 Ever been told that your bass isn't loud enough? - Yes. I love that band dearly, it’s happened at least three times with them.

It’s a bloody good power amp module (Same as in my RM800) but I’d say it was closer to a 4/500W class AB head in terms of the “heft” etc. It doesn’t run out of puff and start squashing the notes in a nasty way like some class D modules, certainly not at any volume level I’ve needed from it

Post your pictures, Lets see what you all look like.

No idea! I have the LB30 and an RM800, I suspect it’s a nice mix of the two and am sorely tempted to put my name on the list for one.
-
The new RM800 is quite tempting just coz it looks badass. It’s a bloody great head, can’t fully explain it but I prefer the 800 power section

Paging @Kevin Dean @eude @Quilly @AndyTravis etc. I know you’ve all expressed an interest in something like me. Let’s all egg each other on here 🤣🤣

Oh dear me. Mark Gooday has posted on Facebook that they have enough NOS parts to build a varying number of various discontinued products including the Retroglide, LB550, Small Block 427 and others. Trouble this way comes...

Well my job has become a lot more fun. We are dealing with a number of the UK consortiums building ventilators and have been ramping up all our production lines of the pressure gauges used so we can supply the thousands needed. Many conference calls later we're already committed to 13,000 pieces in the next few weeks. INteresting being on the other side of the news stories I have to say...

The tech spec my band gives to venues insists on Ashdown. Doesn’t always work but when it does its glorious - last year at the Southbank Centre I was greeted with a wonderfully looked-after MAG 4x10 combo and it was ace.

Would love to A/B with my Little Bastard

Any experiences with an ashdown pi bass 240?
Merton replied to KhaosEmerald's topic in Amps and Cabs
Find a used Trace Elliot Elf, shouldn’t be much more than £40-50 more than the Pi, offers min 4 ohm capability and tonnes of people saying they gig them happily for when you get to that stage. -
I did! Went to a Four10 which is exceptional but a fair bit bigger and heavier. Mostly though I tend to use my pair of One10s, the Four10 is a bit of my ridiculously OTT rig gathering exploits for those once a year gigs which need that amount of air moved. Sounds bloody glorious with a CTM100
-
I’ve gigged a Little Bastard (basically the CTM30 without a gain control) in a reasonable loud function band in pubs and weddings using one or two BF Super Compacts and it’s been glorious. You will need to have PA support as well for the whole room/balance but the onstage volume and tone is wonderful.

Me then. Waaaaay more (exclusive/custom/bespoke) gear than talent
