Volume control position has no bearing on the wattage being produced Different manufacturers use different types of potentiometer so sometimes you get all the volume in the first third of the movement, for example. It's not in any way a reliable method of saying "I was using half power" I'm afraid. And watts don't equal volume either. Sorry, pedant coat removed... Back OT... I've gigged an Elf with a single Barefaced Super Compact (1x12", no tweeter) in a busy pub with a loud rock band and no PA support. It handled it... just. No headroom left but it coped and filled the room

That’s my CTM100 though a Barefaced Four10, nothing in the PA except vocals. Two loud guitars, loud drummer. Bass is fitted with Nordstrand Big Splits, which are a bit like a P pickup in a fat J housing. Sort of. This clip it’s just the neck pickup on full, and me hammering away in a ham-fisted fashion with a plectrum. Hopefully gives a vibe of what the CTM100 can do. I bloody love it. Can’t justify it but bloody love it

I like Load, it’s got a special place in my heart as it reminds me of a trip to the Czech Republic, but I totally understand the older fan base being alienated. And let’s face it, it’s not in the top 5 Metallica records!
