  1. As I understand it, they’ve recently changed their tolex AND glue again to combat these issues even better than before, so it’s worth popping an email to them to have a chat. (I know this because my pair of One10s have different tolex so I queried why!). The peeling shouldn’t be happening to anything that hasn’t been abused or is less than at least 10 years old IMO.
  2. The LB112 cab is quite small from what I can remember and undamped inside (well worth adding this if you can find a suitable driver). It’s also worth double checking the port size(s) as IIRC they’re quite small so may need a tweak...
  3. Sort of, but by accident not design. Ashdown amps (though two of the three I own were built in China) Barefaced Cabs ACG / Zoot / Conway basses OBBM cables. The only place I let myself down is the fx board!

    ACG Finn 5

Alan’s almost finished, and he’s done a stupendous job as always. Stunning
  5. Love the CTM100. I need another one in my life one day! Dont make the same mistake I did and sell it, it’s a stupendous amp. Enjoy
  6. I thought I was going bonkers remembering the new Fusion heads. They aren’t the Legacy heads though are they, because they have the Fusion preamp? Whilst the Legacy heads look amazing, the anew Fusion heads are more up my street if they hit the market
  7. These amps are amazing, and that is a bargain!
  8. Big Splits Huge sounding things
  9. I’ve got a new medium scale bass! It’s a blimmin’ glorious Zoot Funkmeister and it sounds like a Jazz on steroids
  10. Awesome
  11. Seeing Live, er, live for the first time on Sunday at Shepherds Bush, can’t wait. They were the soundtrack to my teens along with Pearl Jam, STP etc..

    ACG RetroB 5

That’s a Finn which is slightly different again from the RetroB which Ewan is having. The Finn is my favourite bass shape ever, I have a bucket list of at least four going at any one time, not to mention that exact one in progress 😎 Might have to have a RetroB at some point too. Or I’ll just steal Ewan’s 🤓
  13. Struggling with the 0% option on the 800 or 1200. Gah.
  14. Get Newtone to make a set for you. I have a set on my new 30” five string fretless and the B is awesome.
  15. That’s coz there was a camera pointed at me 🤣 It’s a bloody glorious bass, @Cosmicrain has done a sterling job. It’s gonna get at least one gig outing this weekend so will report back after that, but initial thoughts are: 1. Flippin’ heck it’s gorgeous 2. Oooh the neck is beautifully fast and well considered (satin finish in the neck, gloss on the headstock) 3. By Jove it sounds absolutely perfect, exactly what I was after 4. The neck pickup solo’d is more pleasing to my ears than a standard J bass neck pickup 5. Flippin’ heck it’s gorgeous.
  16. The Super Compact is a single 12 and very different from the original Compact cab. There is a lot of clarity and you get prominent mids, very different from the cabs with their 10” driver. I’ve used a single SC on gigs and been too loud, it’s a very very good cab.
  17. Cheers Mike - thought I’d uploaded that one too but clearly not 🤣 stunning grain in the maple, love it 🙂
  18. It’s finished! It’s beautiful! I can’t wait to ruin the hi gloss paint with my greasy finger marks!
  19. NCD tomorrow, NBD on Thursday (probably), and I had NBD last week too. I am a greedy pig.

I don't think any of that is particularly unreasonable 😎

Didn’t get to collect the bass but will post the finished pictures on the build thread. It is VERY sexy.

  20. Lovely bass, think it’s been a BCer’s bass before too, sure I almost bought it on here last year 😃
  21. Yeah definitely you are. I certainly got that impression when you came over to buy the CTM100... 🤣
  22. And for comparison with my 32” ACG Finn...:
  23. Unless you’ve been following the build thread you won’t know who Conway Instruments are. So check out this for the history: All you get here is porn (and specs): 5 string fretless, 30” scale with through body stringing Black limba core, English ash top and limba back Limba, maple and cooba set neck, pau ferro board Nordstrand MM5.4 pickup with coil tap and series/parallel switch There's more to it than that but it’s the basics. I’ll let the pictures do the talking. She’s stunning to look at, lovely to play and sounds huuuuge.
  24. A few more pics in the sunshine. Collecting this evening, cannot wait!
