  1. I was at Ashdown HQ last week and totally forgot! I’m hoping to pop back in the next month (ish) so will try to do so then
  2. These do look pretty cool. I wonder which poweramp modules they’re using.
  3. Little Bastard. Glorious
  4. Dude, your builds are superb too!
  5. Phil’s been a busy boy! The body blank is now cut to shape, the headstock has had its veneer added and some of the twelfth fret inlay has been, um, inlaid.
  6. Cheap ones from Gear4Music, obvs 🤓
  7. @Cosmicrain did exactly as he promised - there’s a cool video on his Zoot Bass Facebook page. For some reason I can’t copy the link to here but go check it out. It’s amazing what we take for granted in a bass finish, the video is 11 minutes long and doesn’t begin to show the amount of craftsmanship Mike is putting into this. It’s certainly a good window in to the process though
  8. It won’t quite fit on my pedalboard as it stands. So either I’d need a bigger board or I’d need to rearrange things some. Think I’ll take the boy to Andertons this weekend to try it out, he can ogle the guitars and drum kits whilst we’re there. Then I can decide if I need to go slinking back to Sibob, cap in hand, to apologise profusely. 😃
  9. I’ve just found this pedal and have to say I’m struggling not to buy one. Could be perfect for my new project.
  10. The glorious fingerboard in all its, er, glory:
  11. Damn you. Damn you. The one cab which will ruin my ability to succeed with Sibob’s challenge. Argh.
  12. I love it! It’s great at home as you can get a lovely tone without being too loud but it’s also great (with efficient cabs and PA support) on a gig because you get a glorious broken up valve phatness on stage which just envelops everything (in a good way!) The EQ isn’t particularly versatile but I didn’t buy it for that, I have an ABM and Rootmaster of I need versatility
  13. My rig from last night. ACG Finn with LaBella flats (what a revelation they are!) Ashdown Little Bastard 30W valve head Barefaced One10 and Super Compact. Astonishingly loud and full, a big fat creamy bass tone all night long.
  14. Don’t be ridiculous, that would keep me awake all night long 🤓
  15. This is very true, and one of the reasons behind my brain pursuing it as a genuinely sensible course of action....
  16. Neither. For some reason I want an old heavy Ashdown ABM cab; they sound amazing but are hugely impractical for the music I’m playing. Honestly no idea what goes on in my brain half the time.
  17. Ashdown and Barefaced are my go to noise making devices, yes
  18. Yep, not a fan of MarkBass stuff I’m pleased to say
  19. Ok not that massive. 4x10. And Andy, I no longer have the Elf, as it became an unviable option anyways 🤣
  20. I’m still in. I have an odd hankering for a massive cab for my new rock band but since it’s not really that active it’s an entirely purposeless case of GAS. Apart from the three (ooops) basses commissioned last year which are still ongoing I really shouldn’t be needing anything this year at all and there’s no excuse for me falling off the wagon.
  21. Oooh!
  22. Glad I’m not the only one struggling 🤓 Almost enquired about Brother Jones’ ACG J Type, keep seeing bits of obscure Ashdown kit I want and there’s a Maruszczyk at Bass Direct which is singing its Siren song at me....
  23. Looking great!
  24. Well I hope the quality was up to scratch! Thanks for allowing me to pop in and play bass badly through your lovely ABM rig and cool new pedals (love the Triple Shot!)
  25. That is beautiful. Argh. Don’t need it. Walk away. Hmm.
