  1. I will find some fine quality biscuity products for your tastebuds!
  2. Ah now. I’m popping in there tomorrow, what are the correct biscuits to purchase for them? Or is “any old shite” better than “none” in this case? 🤣
  3. I used to have the 2x12 version of that cab, kinda regret selling it as it would have been ace with the LB. That said the LB is glorious with my Barefaced cabs and they’re lighter 😜
  4. I have no expertise at all, just severe GAS and an inability to practice properly 🤓 For home use it’s bloody wonderful, it can get plenty loud enough to be “too loud” still but as it’s lower powered it can sound gorgeous at sensible volumes too. I tend to use it through a Barefaced One10 at home but did experiment the other day with both that and my Super Compact and it was stupendous. Don’t expect huge tonal variation - the EQ stack is passive and quite limited, but the core tone is beautiful and the switches for mid shift, deep and bright all really add something when engaged. I find it perfectly versatile enough for my ham-fisted attempts at bass playing. If you have the opportunity I personally say go for it 😎
  5. Don’t fret! More pictures. Of the frets mostly being installed. Poor pun I know.
  6. Spot on! Gibson call it korina; this is black limba
  7. Ashdown head plus lightweight cab (Barefaced, in my case) is a big win. You get the tone you want without the back breaking weight. The heads aren’t that heavy (unless you opt for a massive valve beast) - in fact go for one of the wonderful Rootmaster EVO series and you are laughing. For reference I have an ABM EVO (from about 1999/2000), an RM500 EVO ii and a wonderful all valve Little Bastard
  8. These little amps are great! Really really good for home practice and not a bad overdriven sound if you so desire
  9. Preordered the album, seemed like the correct course of action 😃
  10. I like that!
  11. Oooh ive lusted after the Walkabout for some time now. Always the wrong time when they appear!
  12. @ybotyawnoc May be able to provide some insight on it since he’s doing the hard work
  13. No idea, I don’t build these things, I just post the pictures 🤓
  14. Love Alan’s (ACG) work, and I’m the one currently having a Zoot built so soon I can offer a useful comparison. With the budget you have whichever way you go you’ll have a sublime bass but as @EBS_freak said, going too wild could result in perhaps not the results you were aiming for. @thebassist has a good point. Alan at ACG has built me three basses so far and is about to start a fourth. The first one was utterly sublime but the second made me realise things I didn’t consider with the first which started to make me wonder... the third was totally off the wall but again I’d learnt what I wanted and needed and the fourth will take everything I’ve learnt from the first three and become my go-to five string I suspect
  15. The black limba is amazing, not sure where Phil sources his timbers but he struck gold with that! Today he’s routed and fitted the truss rod and carbon rods into the neck:

Two of those old Compacts will be enough to move mountains. Great cabs, bet that rig sounds amazing!
  17. Lovely! Did I happen upon a photo of it on Instagram recently....? 🙂
  18. I have a double cut Finn 4, 32” scale which is basically the same woods. And I may have possibly commissioned a 5 string sister for her... 😇
  19. Sorry that was aimed at @ead - bit of a thread derail!
  20. Just seen your avatar @Grantd - is that this rather scrummy Finn I see? https://www.instagram.com/p/BqozLUJnzSh/?utm_source=ig_share_sheet&igshid=4lgpcsxtqa4b
  21. Is it Finn-shaped?
  22. Do it - and let us know how you get on
  23. Very fair. The cab is realistically about £100-£150 depending on condition and the amp £150-£200. Go for it, or link me so I can 😂
