  1. I found the dadarrios very sticky and when that wore off they felt quite rough still. Ive had great experience with the Elite's Groundwounds which are the same idea as the daddarios but cheaper and to me better. Failing that if i ever have to use rounds (which i generally hate) i go for Fender 7150's. Had a great fundamental, nice and smooth bit have more 'bite' than the above grounds
  2. Any offers over £500? Needs must in the current economic climate
  3. I had a Euro LX in the same colour scheme (black and gold) a while back and miss it. That bass of yours is a stunner!
  4. Just took delivery of one of these and rather randomly I'm struggling to get the chassis out the wooden head case. On first glance it seems there are two bolts on either side of the case that secure the amp inside but having removed these the amp wont budge. Cant see any other obvious security measures I'm missing, the rubber feet screws dont seem long enough to penetrate into the chassis but I'm clearly missing something that is probably very obvious??
  5. Been offered a deal on a head and cab, seller wont split tho.  How in demand would an Ashdown 2x12 cab be??

      If I had more space...

  6. Not sufre it will fit on the kitchen scales but various places online have it quoted as - Weight: 30kg (67 lbs). Certainly not lightweight and i think the wood used on the cabs adds to it but i guess that idea was for this to be a studio amp and not necessarily carted around. The castors certainly help with that!
  7. Ok, i said final price drop but a new axe has caught my eye so to try and get this gone in these hard times id take £600 collected
  8. If i ever have to use rounds i go with Fender 7150, the only rounds for me that have that big fundamental and slightly rolled off top end. decent tension too which i like
  9. Ashdown drophead 30w valve bass combo. Essentially Ashdowns answer to the classic Ampeg B15 - an all valve fliptop type combo. Fitted with castors and comes with fitted HotCovers padded cover. I also changed the silver pre-amp valve covers for black ones as it just looks cooler. Power valves and pre valves are all Ruby tubes. The ultimate motown tone with this and a flats loaded precision bass (not included in this sale) I bought this in lockdown for something nice to play whilst i was holed up. Alas now the gigs are back on i need to fund something bigger for what we do. Collection only from Bolton or can meet/deliver within reasonable distance. No trades on this im afraid Pics to follow
  10. Elites Groundwound? Big elites fan here, have their flats on most basses but i had a set of grounds on a Jack Casady bass and it was glorious
  11. Would knock some cash off/part ex for an Ampeg SVT Tube DI box
  12. Ampeg V4BH made by SLM in the USA in the 90’s I believe. The SVT valve tone without the weight and need to drive it a building demolishing levels. This one comes with a belly full of the much sought after Svetlana Winged C 6L6GC’s and sounds glorious as one would expect. Comes with padded Hot Covers fitted cover and can run at 4 and 8ohms suiting most common cabs. Never gigged and rehearsed a handful of times. Alas the gigs have dried up so this must go ahead of my Ashdown valve combo. £700 collected from Bolton or could deliver within reasonable distance. No trades at the moment please. Pics to follow asap
  13. Withdrawing for now. Think its the big rig that needs to go after all
  14. I had the little brother of this, the 360. Along with the Big Block 750 it is easily the most “all valve” sounding hybrid ive ever heard. Awesome amps
  15. Just wondering if anyone here had any experience with Toltec pickups at all? Not much around re: their bass pups although their guitar ones seem to get good reviews. Im after a Thumper for my MIJ P bass and they seem to make a very similar pickup specs wise in their Handwound Hot P Bass Pickup at 13K. Seemingly hand wound in Pudsey and certainly look to be well made but as I say, not a lot of info on their sound/tone.
  16. Hmmm, the hot tubes sounds like it might nail the sound im after with my jazz. Might have to look into one
