  1. I had the little brother of this, the 360. Along with the Big Block 750 it is easily the most “all valve” sounding hybrid ive ever heard. Awesome amps
  2. Just wondering if anyone here had any experience with Toltec pickups at all? Not much around re: their bass pups although their guitar ones seem to get good reviews. Im after a Thumper for my MIJ P bass and they seem to make a very similar pickup specs wise in their Handwound Hot P Bass Pickup at 13K. Seemingly hand wound in Pudsey and certainly look to be well made but as I say, not a lot of info on their sound/tone.
  3. Hmmm, the hot tubes sounds like it might nail the sound im after with my jazz. Might have to look into one
  4. Semi threaded saddles. Not seen one before so dont know what it was originally on. No screws im afraid. Price includes uk p&p
  5. Set of pup and bridge covers. Nice worn look to the chrome without being too far gone. Comes with thumbrest and all screws. Price can included UK p&p
  6. Price includes UK postage. Came on my new P bass but far too low tension for me. Silks look like new so definitely not old at all. Cut for P bass type headstock
  7. Postage now available. Should be about £20 i recon?
  8. Final price drop to £400 before i stick it back under the bed
  9. Price drop to £450
  10. Ive had to nick the flats off this for my jazz and latest recording project. As such if she goes anytime soon she will be wearing a fresh set of Fender nickels. On that basis price drop to £275 collected
  11. I use the older V4BH head with the same cab. Sounds absolutely superb with any of my Fenders or spector. It just works
  12. Here we have a spector ns-94 in black gloss finish, upgraded gold hardware (black spectors with gold hardware just look perfect), thru neck and a haz clone preamp. Currently strung with fender 7150 nickels and has all the bark and growl you would expect. I do still have the original black hardware and will of course include in the sale. I need to remember that a solid p bass and flats is absolutely my thing but I always fall for black spectors after seeing Blondie live years back and falling in love with Leigh Foxx’s tone. Will chuck in a gig bag but ideally need collection from Bolton or can meet/deliver within reasonable distance. No trades currently please as I already have my eye on a mij P. Pics to follow asap IMG_2748.MOV
  13. The clear out continues…Ashdown drophead 30w valve bass combo. Essentially Ashdowns answer to the classic Ampeg B15 - an all valve fliptop type combo. Fitted with castors and comes with fitted HotCovers padded cover. I also changed the silver pre-amp valve covers for black ones as it just looks cooler. Power valves replaced last month with a matched russian set. The ultimate motown tone with this and a flats loaded precision bass (not included in this sale) I bought this in lockdown for something nice to play whilst i was holed up. Alas now the gigs are back on i need to fund something bigger for what we do. Collection only from Bolton or can meet/deliver within reasonable distance. No trades on this im afraid
  14. If you want it without the Wizards and just back to stock pups i can do £275 if it tempts anyone?
  15. Squier late 50’s p bass. Upgraded pups to a Wizard Thumper (£80) and wearing Elites Detroit flats. Action set slightly higher than my usual just as its my ‘Jamerson/Babbitt/Dunn’ motown bass but truss rod in full working order do can be lowered. I do have the original pups that ill include in the sale along with a gig bag but the Thumper makes this a total beast of a bass. £330 ono collected from Bolton or can deliver locally
  16. Potentially controversial idea - have you tried that head through a different cab?
  17. I found the LB550 VERY clean, no grit at all even with a hot active bass. Also, as with a lot of Class D, it was absolutely loud enough but at the loud volume it lacked 'booty'. I much preferred the Spyder series when looking at Ashdowns hybrids
  18. Ashdown ABM evo II 500 bass head. Made in UK Chrome front version in wooden tolexed sleeve. Massively loud and nice beefy sound. Can dial in grit/roar with the valve drive. No longer gigging so needs a new home. £225 collected from Bolton or could deliver within reasonable distance
  19. My latest toy came in a tatty but fully working rectangular hard case. Bits of tape where the missing tolex is and a lovely green fur interior. Hinges and clasps all work and it is a solid piece. If you can collect from Bolton is yours for nowt. Not going to bother with delivery on this, to much hassle
  20. I have Fender 7150m's on my roundwound basses. Lovely fundamental and good amount of tension for added thump
  21. Cheers pal, im right in thinking the blend pot is or should be bridge pup at fully clockwise and neck pup fully counter? Defo get zero volume fully counter so something defo amiss
