  1. So arriving today was my newly purchased 2nd hand 90’s NS94. Advertised as having a BTS circuit it actually turns out its a Mighty Mite Haz pre amp! However, there is an issue - the blend knob only seems to do anything in the fully clockwise position which presumably is the bridge pup. Turning it full counter clockwise gets no sound at all even with volume fully up so gets its either a pre amp fault or neck pup fault. Will get it off to the menders for a full set up anyway but here is a quick guts shot
  2. Going to withdraw this while i have a long hard think, she sounded perfect at rehearsal tonight, beefy and growly. So for now at least, she is no longer for sale
  3. Had quite a few messages re: trades. No an awful lot im after bass wise - always partial to a mij P but mainly (if anything) amps are my thing - Ashdown CTM 100, ashdown spyder 550, Ampeg svt III non pro. Much prefer cash sale but thought id put it out there
  4. Price drop to £300 collected
  5. Rough looking (some pay extra for the ‘mojo’) japanese 75 RI from the early 90’s. Loaded with Wizard (before they changed) 84 pups and a kiogon loom to give a nice beefy P bass esque sound. Recently fret dressed and set up at the Guitar Surgeon in Astley. Currently wearing Fender 7150 nickels and sounding beautiful as expected. Bad points - well she is naturally road worn, whether you see that as bad or not is down to taste i suppose. Being a 70’s reissue they got it right weight wise - this isnt a featherweight bass! Only reason for sale is i just need to stop buying non P basses and wondering why they dont suit me! Collection from Bolton preferred or can deliver within reasonable distance.
  6. Love my UK made evo II Rc 500 head but do desperately want to give the Spyder 550 a proper go. Keeping my eyes peeled in usual places
  7. Very little interest so ill probably pull for now. Any offers still considered at all but will stick it back in the mancave for now
  8. Agreed. As a all valve fan boi this amp along with the Mesa Big Block are the closest ive had to THAT sound without bug power bottles. Never tried a walkabout but hear they are of the same ilk
  9. So recently ive sold a lot of my ‘big’ gear leaving me with a lovely valve combo, my 75 Jazz and a few big amps yet to shift. Its the first time ive been without a P bass in years and wanted one to string with flats to leave for house jamming. I initially looked at the lovely 40th Anniversary squiers but then this popped up fairly local on Facebook . The thing is like brand new! Fret work is really good, spiral saddle period correct bridge, gold guard, decent sturdy tuners and my fave P bass colour combo. Sounds great stock but will defo be getting some flats and (when i work out how to drill the guard) a period correct tug bar. Amazing bass for the price! Will update as we bond further but the thing that gets me instantly is the eveness of the sound/tone both up and down the fretboard but also across all the strings -very even, smooth and buttert
  10. Shipping may be an option soon as i have a few bits incoming so should have packing materials
  11. Havent bought a brand new bass in years but really liking that black P bass, looks very classy......and im in the market for a p bass too!
  12. **PRICE DROP - £350 COLLECTED** Not gigging and have my house needs covered so time to let the big boys go. Here was have a slightly scruffy but fully functional Mesa 360. Ive always said the MPulse range are the closest ‘all valve’ tone ive had without using an ‘all valve’ head. 2 x Mesa 12AX7’s driving a fet power stage. House here in an SKB abs type case. Pots could do with a quick spray - i set and leave my amps and this has sat in my man cave a while. 360 very loud Mesa watts and sounds phenomenal with my flats loaded J through my ampeg 2x12. Never dialed in more than a third of the volume - never needed to! I dont have the original Mesa footswitch but it was supplied with a Randall pedal that does everything the original did - this will be included in the sale Collection from Bolton preferred or could deliver within reasonable distance.

    possible

my dream is an all original (and preferably a bit roadworn/battered) 1957/1958 Fender P in burst/gold/maple
  15. Got this beauty today. Had a 1966 Ampeg fliptop a while back but it got sold when it wasnt getting much use and a baby came along. Got this from Bass Bros over in Warwick. Part ex’d a bass and some cash for it. Its a bit noisy but that was calmed down massively by putting the correct pre-amp valve combination in - it came with 3 x 12ax7 so swapped the splitter for an ecc82 that worked very well. Still some noise but at some point ill have a replacement set of EL84’s put in
  16. And here she is…..effortlessly smooth transaction with Will. Well wort the longer than expected journey 🤣. Will give the amp a thread of its own shortly
  17. Heading over tomorrow to complete a trade. I watch so many bass bits over so many sites i completely got my locations mixed up. Thought it was in Leeds which is probably a 45min drive, turns out its Warwick which is about 2hrs 30 Oh well, new toy incoming. Comms have been excellent so far
  18. Blue at tuner + red at bridge = Bass Centre Elites. Lovely strings
  19. Is it the aesthetic of the grill cloth putting people off? Open to offers and can deliver within reasonable distance
  20. On Hold pending part ex at Bass Bros against something tasty
  21. Not remotely jealous of both of those beauts! 😍
  22. Couple random trades/Part ex’s added:- Ampeg PF20T/PF50t bursr/gold/maple type p basses
  23. Lovely AND local! If a few of my sale things shift i could well be interested
  24. Final price drop to £700 collected before it goes back in its case
