  1. Here we have a spector ns-94 in black gloss finish, upgraded gold hardware (black spectors with gold hardware just look perfect), thru neck and a haz clone preamp. Currently strung with fender 7150 nickels and has all the bark and growl you would expect.  I do still have the original black hardware and will of course include in the sale. I need to remember that a solid p bass and flats is absolutely my thing but I always fall for black spectors after seeing Blondie live years back and falling in love with Leigh Foxx’s tone. Will chuck in a gig bag but ideally need collection from Bolton or can meet/deliver within reasonable distance. No trades currently please as I already have my eye on a mij P.  Pics to follow asap

  2. The clear out continues…Ashdown drophead 30w valve bass combo. Essentially Ashdowns answer to the classic Ampeg B15 - an all valve fliptop type combo. Fitted with castors and comes with fitted HotCovers padded cover. I also changed the silver pre-amp valve covers for black ones as it just looks cooler. Power valves replaced last month with a matched russian set. The ultimate motown tone with this and a flats loaded precision bass (not included in this sale)

I bought this in lockdown for something nice to play whilst i was holed up. Alas now the gigs are back on i need to fund something bigger for what we do.

Collection only from Bolton or can meet/deliver within reasonable distance. No trades on this im afraid

  3. Squier late 50’s p bass. Upgraded pups to a Wizard Thumper (£80) and wearing Elites Detroit flats. Action set slightly higher than my usual just as its my ‘Jamerson/Babbitt/Dunn’ motown bass but truss rod in full working order do can be lowered. I do have the original pups that ill include in the sale along with a gig bag but the Thumper makes this a total beast of a bass. £330 ono collected from Bolton or can deliver locally

  4. I found the LB550 VERY clean, no grit at all even with a hot active bass.  Also, as with a lot of Class D, it was absolutely loud enough but at the loud volume it lacked 'booty'.  I much preferred the Spyder series when looking at Ashdowns hybrids

  5. Ashdown ABM evo II 500 bass head. Made in UK Chrome front version in wooden tolexed sleeve. Massively loud and nice beefy sound. Can dial in grit/roar with the valve drive. No longer gigging so needs a new home.  £225 collected from Bolton or could deliver within reasonable distance

  6. My latest toy came in a tatty but fully working rectangular hard case. Bits of tape where the missing tolex is and a lovely green fur interior.  Hinges and clasps all work and it is a solid piece.

If you can collect from Bolton is yours for nowt.  Not going to bother with delivery on this, to much hassle :)

I have a spare Mighty Mite Haz copy if you get stuck.....

Cheers pal, im right in thinking the blend pot is or should be bridge pup at fully clockwise and neck pup fully counter?  Defo get zero volume fully counter so something defo amiss

  8. So to update - i managed to get the sweep/blend pot working and got a lovely beefy sound with it set slightly to the neck pup.  Alas, today its back to only working on the bridge pup side and anything anti-clockwise from the centre indent gets progressively quieter until all volume is lost when fully counterclockwise.  Defo needs investigation from someone much more competent than me.  Could either be neck pup or pot

  9. So arriving today was my newly purchased 2nd hand 90’s NS94. Advertised as having a BTS circuit it actually turns out its a Mighty Mite Haz pre amp!  However, there is an issue - the blend knob only seems to do anything in the fully clockwise position which presumably is the bridge pup. Turning it full counter clockwise gets no sound at all even with volume fully up so gets its either a pre amp fault or neck pup fault. Will get it off to the menders for a full set up anyway but here is a quick guts shot

  10. Had quite a few messages re: trades. No an awful lot im after bass wise - always partial to a mij P but mainly (if anything) amps are my thing - Ashdown CTM 100, ashdown spyder 550, Ampeg svt III non pro. Much prefer cash sale but thought id put it out there

  11. Rough looking (some pay extra for the ‘mojo’) japanese 75 RI from the early 90’s.  Loaded with Wizard (before they changed) 84 pups and a kiogon loom to give  a nice beefy P bass esque sound. Recently fret dressed and set up at the Guitar Surgeon in Astley.  Currently wearing Fender 7150 nickels and sounding beautiful as expected.  Bad points - well she is naturally road worn, whether you see that as bad or not is down to taste i suppose.  Being a 70’s reissue they got it right weight wise - this isnt a featherweight bass!  Only reason for sale is i just need to stop buying non P basses and wondering why they dont suit me!  Collection from Bolton preferred or can deliver within reasonable distance.

One of the best sounding amps ever made IMHO. Superb depth of tone but still retaining clarity.

I've got the 600 and its way too loud for the Glam and Punk rock bands i play with. Never had my master volume any higher than 11 o'clock with GAIN at 11-12 o'clock and that's playing some large club gigs without going thru FOH. This amp is more than enough for most bands.

You can get some amazing tones from lovely low deep mellowness to some biting overdriven rock tones and everything in between.

I only use the paraEQ to balance the tones for each venue if needed. Mostly in the off position.

Superb build quality. You cant go wrong with a Mesa especially at that price.

Agreed. As a all valve fan boi this amp along with the Mesa Big Block are the closest ive had to THAT sound without bug power bottles. Never tried a walkabout but hear they are of the same ilk
