  1. Er so, the mrs may kill me for this when she finds out but i cut a deal with the seller. Anyone want an SVT II non pro project? 🤣
  2. @3below kindly PM'd me the following info putting my rushed ad to shame :). I will try and pad out the ad with more info as ive kinda rushed it in my giddyness at the 'something special' which has come up Dimensions: 41 x 32.5 x 12.5 [cm]. Weight: 16.6 [kg]
  3. The offer i had accepted from the 'gone quiet/never showed up' buyer was £625, happy to accept same offer from other BCers (accepted offer was via facebook marketplace i must ad, never encountered such timewasting on here)
  4. Peavey Alphabass - 160w valve bass amp with 2ohm and 4ohm ouputs. Comes with Peavey rackbag. I sourced original knobs for this as part of a restoration. Power valves are matched JJ 6L6GC from hotrox and have around 5hrs use. The preamp valves are original Brimars. Amp works perfectly with an excellent DI for bigger venues (not that 160 valve watts should need FOH help!) Pictures show fan removed as i have bought a rubber gasket to sit between the fan and amp shell to reduce noise. This will all be fully fitted before collection for you. Collection only from Bolton. Trials welcome but you’ll need to bring your own suitable cab as mine is still at our locked down studio space. Have basses to use tho. Only selling as something special has come up. If that goes ill be withdrawing this
  5. So the fan in my Peavey Alphabass is a little noisy, not noticable when playing but as a cheap component I thought id replace it. The original looks like a 80mm AC 230v fan. Are there any other specs id need to match when sourcing a replacement? Our local PC store has what looks like good replacements for literally £2-£3. I just want to make sure that other than size, AC and power consumption theres nothing else i need to take into consideration? Here is a pic or the original:-
  6. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USA-MADE-AMPEG-SVTII-NON-PRO-BASS-AMP-DONOR-SPARE/333640102706?hash=item4dae7ff332:g:VmcAAOSwSwte-xo2 Just gone up for sale near me AND local. One supposedly fully working the other one as spares. Did message and say id be interested in the spares one as a project and as im local would collect but he wants to sell together. Either way this could be a good price for 2 of these beasts. Anyone wanna go in on a deal?
  7. Id say £500 isnt miles away. If its the one from Amp Broker it will be fully serviced too. I paid £250 for mine in a non working state so by the time id sourced original peavey knobs, full new set of power valves, peavey 3u rackbag then im probably not THAT far off £500 and the one on reverb looks in better cosmetic nick than mine
  8. I have been tempted to part with it a couple of times, even listing it here once but when i plug it in a just cant part with it. Always wanted an Ampeg V4B (had a V4BH) and I guess thats the only thing i might let it go for.
  9. Needed a less clean one to match my roadworn bass. Sourced one of here so the mintier one is available. No screws im afraid but everything works as it should. £20 delivered in the UK
  10. Yup, I have one (might've been my old post you saw). Lovely amp and just at the right wattage to be able to drive the valves without ever wanting for clean headroom. Not massively heavy compared to other valve heads. Can be had for a decent price and doesn't cost the earth to revalve. Heres a few shots of mine
  11. Big ol' heavy duty rack case with butterfly catches on the removeable front and back lids. Big spring loaded carrying handles to sides and front/back. Rubber feet on bottom for placing on top of cab. Collection only as decent size and weight. Pics to follow asap
  12. Price drop to £650 and an update on the strings. The bass was wearing Olympia flats but last night the G snapped at the tuner. So i strung her up with a used set of my fave Elites flats and the difference is fantastic. More thump and a bit more ‘open’. Sounded great through my Ampeg B50R

Lawrence bought a strap off me in an effortlessly smooth transaction. Nae danger here
  14. if you are local to Bolton at all youd be welcome to try my Peavey alphabass. Im toying with listing it here anyway as something a bit special has come up that I need to fund
  15. Two that spring to mind are a sunburst Epiphone Rivoli (reissue) with hardcase from Bass Gallery for £250 a few years ago. I also once snagged a 'spares/repairs' SVT on ebay for £350, all it needed was new valves and it was fine
  16. According to this nifty little gadget borrowed off my neighbour the neck depth at the first fret is 23mm (0.905512 inches to be precise)
  17. hmmmm, local and a V4B.........tempted by the head!!
  18. That's a stunner! Not helping my gas for an active PJ bass at the mo!
  19. Definitely deep. Its a thinner neck width wise than my Fender Classic 50’s but certainly deeper. Ill see what i can do measurement wise tonight and get back to you
  20. Hi, I can try and get the neck depth dimensions but I don't have those digital caliper type things (rally should invest actually). I can potentially do courier. I have plenty of bubble warp for the bass but no box for the hardcase, being an original hardcase id like to protect that too
