  1. Ive seen a MBC 410 locally that's the same price as an also local Ampeg B410HLF. Im guessing the ampeg will go lower (boomy almost if the standard 410HLF is anything to go by). Whats peoples thoughts on the MBC 410?
  2. On hold for Hoppo1975 pending usual. Will let you know if that changes mate
  3. Still available, deal could be done for this and the Ashdown Spyder head im also selling
  4. Me and this head have a bit of history. Bought originally in around 2012 I later sold it to a fellow BCer....fast forward to 2020 and I bought it back from said BCer! These are my go to head when i'm either sharing backline or playing a venue unsuitable for my valve head. They are easily my favourite non valve amp but we are again lucky enough to have our own rehearsal space and currently gigs that allow my trusted old Peavey valve head It comes loaded with a Ruby 12AX7 HG5 in V1 and a JJ ECC83 in V2. I generally crank the gain on these and adjust volume to taste getting a nice gritty driven tone with either my flats loaded P bass or Burns Bison. Currently runs through an Ashdown 1510HX that is also for sale (will do the whole rig for £250 collected!). Usual Ashdown quality back up with excellent after care. Plenty online about these valve pre-amp/hybrid heads and I will follow up with pictures at tonights rehearsal. Collection would be from Bolton but could arrange meet up if needed.
  5. Why is it so hard to find a 4ohm sealed cab in pub friendly size???

Is sealed a benefit in small spaces?  Always wondered.

My Schroeder 1210 is pub sized, and a sealed cab, and 4ohms, and more than loud enough for most gigs.

They're a bit hard to come by tho.

  6. Think you may have got this from me? Either way if my Ashdown Cab and Head go I could be interested in this
  7. I rehearse in Chorley (Tuesdays) and travel to the in laws in Widnes semi regularly so if this helps let me know
  8. Im back in our rehearsal space on Tuesday so will get loads of pics and maybe even a vid
  9. Sound City 120 mk4. Bought it as one of my first valve amps after being told it would be fine for bass. Two tech services later, numerous cabs tried it was still just a hissy fartbox. The mark 3's ive tried on the other hand have been glorious
  10. Had a bit of a reality check at last nights rehearsal in that as much as I try and move with the times I really love the sound and tone of big, ugly, heavy old peavey gear. My back hates me but we are lucky to have our own rehearsal space where we can leave gear…… As such I’m tentatively offering here my Ashdown ABM 1510HX bass cab. It’s a 400w, 4ohm cab consisting of a 1x15, 1x10 and a switchable horn. No scuffs or rips but could maybe do with a bad of new Velcro behind the grill and it does sometimes slip down a little. Its got nice rubber casters on the bottom for ease of movement. A front shelf type port, black cloth grill with white piping and a single wing Ashdown logo in the top left corner. Very difficult cab to get much info on. I believe these were early Ashdown cabs made in UK so good quality as expected from Ashdown. Dimensions ive found are: Weight 35kg, Height 72cm, Depth 42cm and width 61cm. Price wise, again its difficult to gain – there’s an unspeakered one on ebay at the moment for £40. I was hoping for about £100 collected from sunny Bolton. Cab can be tested with your head/bass or mine. Always sounded great with whatever ive put through it including my most recent impulse purchase – an Ashdown 330 spyder head which ill probably also list shortly. When will I learn to stop buying new things when I really like my old things?!?
  11. Going to withdraw this for now. Rehearsed last night and used my Ashdown Spyder head for the first set and sounded lovely. Thought id give the peavey a blast for the second set and just realised that THAT valve sound is for me. At some point ill look for a decent 4ohm cab (peavey 1x15 or something) and just keep that as my rig
  12. Warwick Tubepath and Mesa BB750 are the most 'valvey' hybrids/non-valve amps ive tried.
  13. No trades now im afraid, just completed a deal on a Bison bass so its cash offers only now
  14. REALLY want one! A 4005 is at the top of my "first thing to buy when winning lottery" list
  15. The bass that the sale of this amp is looking to fund has been reduced so will consider reasonable offers of over £300
  16. Massive Ampeg B15 bargain spotted.....all the way down in newbury tho :(

I have aa Ampeg PF50T which sounds great for both gigs and recording, is easy to move about, runs off UK mains without an extra transformer, and doesn't need a re-cap! Also there's not much in the piggy bank at the moment...

  17. Quite a few PM's asking about the weight.. Official blurb states 16.6kg but will dig the scales out later for an official measurement
  18. just as id settled on a burns bison bass up comes a bargain Classic 50's P bass! Decisions decisions

      No contest.  Buy British!

  19. **Trades on hold temporarily as something has come up that im looking to fund**
  20. Sold an amp to Paul waaaaay back and bought it back off him this weekend. He had kept the original box including the original invoice from 2104 with my old address on! Nae danger here
  21. Just trying to be honest (under promise, over deliver) and all that. Particularly after I bought it as 'fully working and serviced' despite 4 of the power valves being useless!
