I had the 330 head and was surprised at the results of some tube rolling in these. Normally hybrids valves are more for show than anything but I got great results with a high gain Chinese 12AX7 in V1 and a JJ in v2, lovely bit of grind/drive

DR Legend Flats cut for 4 in-a-row headstock and lived on my P bass for about 6 minutes max. The tension was the only thing I didn’t like about them – a little TOO low for me (not TI wet noodle/rubber band but not as taught as my usual Elites). Great thumpy tone and classy looking yellow/gold silks. Come in original box and like new. Yours for £20 delivered in UK

Elites Detroit Flats 45-105 Literally had on for one 2hr rehearsal. Meant to get the lighter 40-100 gauge and as such these are a bit too manly for my weedy hands. Cut for 4 in row headstock with plenty (probably too many) winds. Does have the common Elites thing where the E string speaking length wraps around the tuning post slightly. Comes in original packet £15.00 delivered in UK [s]Ernie Ball Gp III flats Lived on my P bass for around 3hrs. These are fairly bright flats with plenty of sustain (some say they are basically D’addario Chromes). Cut for 4 in a row headstock. Will come in Chromes box as ive lost the original £15 delivered to UK[/s]

Out of the above id go either Marshall or SC120 amps, cabwise it would have to be the marshall. Barefaced just don't do anything for me, never tried a BFM or Shermann

2 sets of Status strings that are Short Scale, cut for 2+2 headstock and both had 10mins play. Only reason being all my basses have good old thumpy flats but this one bass (Epiphone Rivoli) seems to like brighter strings – settled on some short scale nickels. Halfwound 40-100 Flatwound 45-105 £10 each posted in UK

Whatever happened to the Cabronita Precision?
Pow_22 replied to Grahambythesea's topic in Bass Guitars
I had the squire version. Loved the feel and tone but the misaligned E string with the pup was something I couldn't get over. The E string would literally bloom rather than an instant attack that the other strings had -
La Bella 760FL flatwounds. Had around 5hrs play so still plenty of zing left and will warm up nicely the more they are played. Cut for 4 in a row headstock and have lived on my P bass up until recently. Less tension than the FS set but still a little bit too much for my weedy picking hand. £20 delivered to your door? Always interested in trades for other flats cut for same headstock – DR’s, Elites, GHS etc (don’t really like Fenders, Chromes or owt too high tension)

Got this pedal in a good deal on here and love it as an 'always on' effect to beef up my tone and add a little hair when I dig in. Just curious as to any users who have done any tube rolling in these units? Being starved plate design are they very receptive to different valves of the same type (12AX7)? I've seen some comments on changing them for lower gain types like 12Au7 but I don't want to lose that subtle breakup. The only 'problem' I currently have is when engaged I do find that the G & D strings can get lost a little bit even with the bright switch engaged. As such I may try a brighter 12AX7 like a RI Tung Sol or something like that. Any users have any experience?
