1. 2 sets of Status strings that are Short Scale, cut for 2+2 headstock and both had 10mins play. 2. I had the squire version. Loved the feel and tone but the misaligned E string with the pup was something I couldn't get over. The E string would literally bloom rather than an instant attack that the other strings had

4. Just buy a bitsa and attack it with a sander?
5. Bought some strings off Paul in an effortlessly smooth transaction. No worries here
6. My main amp, lovely these amps. Very happy with mine. Highly recommended bump on me
7. Got this pedal in a good deal on here and love it as an 'always on' effect to beef up my tone and add a little hair when I dig in. Just curious as to any users who have done any tube rolling in these units? Being starved plate design are they very receptive to different valves of the same type (12AX7)? I've seen some comments on changing them for lower gain types like 12Au7 but I don't want to lose that subtle breakup. The only 'problem' I currently have is when engaged I do find that the G & D strings can get lost a little bit even with the bright switch engaged. As such I may try a brighter 12AX7 like a RI Tung Sol or something like that. Any users have any experience?
8. Got this lovely bass in what i think was a great deal from crack converters! Its a 1996/1997 epiphone rivoli in cherry red complete with epi hardcase. Ive always loved the semi hollow look and in the past have had a jack casady bass and another rivoli albeit in the slightly less stunning sunburst. Not overly practical for my main band but something i couldnt pass up on as ive been waiting for a cherry one to pop up for ages. Came with duff strings that appear to be longscale ones cut down so have ordered some shortscale flats to go on it and then will give it a good set up. Not major dings, scratches or neck repairs so all looks good! Pics to follow asap
9. Looking for recommendations for short scale strings for my rivoli to try and counter some of the boom and rumble. Generally on my other basses I like nice thumpy flats but I feel the Rivoli may need something brighter? Ideally id like to stay with flats so have considered brighter ones like Chromes and TI’s. Have also considered d’addario halfwounds as I have liked these in the past. Another option would be pressure wounds but taking all these into account maybe what I need is a nice set of steels to help get some treble? Any other rivoli/Gibson eb2 users able to chip in?
10. Bought a DHA pedal off Ryan that came excellently packed and in quick time
11. BUMP with pics on way. Again in Sheffield this week. Will take £30
12. Amp wise I once got close with an Orange Bass terror, cab wise ive not tried anything from the lightweight crew that would make me give up my heavyweight gear
13. Back up. Just to confirm these are cut for a P bass (4 in row) with plenty of winds. Had 10mins play then stored, lovely feeling strings but a little too thumpy for me. £25 to your door
14. Cheers for the link. Mine doesn't break up early at all, infact that's what led me to try the Tungsols as I heard they had a grittier sound than the JJ's it had in previous Think I might need to play around with the volume/gain mix to get a bit more grit instead of just a fat bass tone
