Sounds like the one with the extra 12ax7 may be an all valve amp as opposed to the 'standard' ctm15 which (as discussed on here) is actually a hybrid with a solid state pre amp?

Ltd Edition “Custom Shop” Epiphone Thunderbird bass. I think the ltd edition/custom shop thing just relates to its colour – a lovely glossy black (not matte like the Nikki Sixx version). I retro fitted some Gibson-esque knobs just as I think they look better than the original speed knobs. Had a full set-up inc fret dress and finger board roll at Heywood Guitar Doctor who also fitted its current Fender flatwound strings giving a lovely beefy steam-roller of a tone (if you follow him on Facebook you can see the running commentary he did of the work). I used it with neck pickup on full, bridge pickup just about on and get a “P bass on steroids” kinda tone. I usually use Picato flats but thought the brighter Fenders would be more suited on this and I was right! Comes with massively padded Thomann gig bag. No massive dings, scrapes etc etc. Tiny bit of usual buckley swirl on the back but other than that it’s a minter. Selling as I need a hollow body back in my life. £150. Collection only from Bolton or could deliver locally. Trials welcome through my amp or yours. Pics to follow in a few mins

Cheers Peeps. I did drop ashdown an email to their generic 'info' address but had no response as of yet. Will try the direct emails instead

I’ve got a new bass amp potentially incoming this week for a week’s trial pending purchase & there is ZERO info from anyone who has played one online. The beast in question is the Ashdown DP200H Head which will be replacing my SVT. I LOVE the SVT but I just don’t get to crank 300 valve watts to the sweet spot so want something slightly less powerful but still all valve. I’ve had several Ashdowns before and always liked the tone (the big bug bare was always that they just seem quiet compared to their ratings – maybe due to the vintage style voicing?). Anyway, there is really not much info around on the DP200 other than they brought out a B15 style flip-top combo featuring the head (flipping a 200w valve amp! – Ouch!). Do any of the Ashdown users/endorsers here have any experience with this amp at all? I’ll be looking to use it mainly with a flats loaded P or flats loaded Thunderbird through an Ashdown 4x10 4ohm sealed cab. Type of music is indie, mellow rock with the occasional punky effort thrown in. Playing small/medium size venues with no PA support, don’t mind a bit of valve breakup but don’t want to be getting full on distortion just trying to be heard.

Need some advises on a new P bass pup for my PB70. Im looking for a thick bassy sound, not too fussed about the usual Precision woody tone – something a bit more meaty but retaining the P punch. I play with flats but mainly use a pick and this can often result in thin/harsh/brittle top end. Ive read great things about the Wizard Thumper and wondering if a hot/overwound pup is the way to go or the Dimarzio DP122 which is also hot (not as much as the thumper from what ive read). Ive read about the dimarzio having a growly mid-range, higher output than ‘standard’ and a bit more bass - that would seem to go well with a Valve amp. I play through an SVT valve rig and sometimes find my current bass sound is a little thin/weak and maybe almost plasticy sounding particularly in the upper register. Others ive read about is the Fender Original (feel this is going to be maybe more traditional ‘woody’ P bass tone), the various Seymour Duncan QP’s (I believe the SP2 sounds like what im after from their range) and the Fender True ’58. Anyone recommend any of these or anything else that fits the fat, beefy, bassy with maybe a bit of high end roll and and bit of mid hump bill?

Original 1976 Fender Precision pickups. All original except the hook-up wire which was changed to wax-cloth wires during a service at PMT Manchester. I bought these to go in my PB70 to try and emulate my 1976 P bass but i am wanting something more modern sounding now for that bass. Would consider part ex for a black Dimarzio DP122. Collection from Bolton or can post recorded delivery for around £5.00 Pics to follow asap

I used to play one througfh a VS-112, your not going to get gigging volume from a 15w hybrid amp but it does sound nice. On the other hand i seem to be the only person on the planet who didnt like the CTM 100 and 300 i tried
-
Always have covers but I stay away from Roqsolid nowadays, very overpriced for what they are. Hot Covers seem better made (miles better padded protection, better outer materials) and usually quite a bit cheaper
-
Keep your class D's micro whatsits and emulators with a knob that says "valve" - this is the real deal, you just cant beat a real valve amp

Same here regarding heavy weight. I ditched my SVT and embarked on a mission to get that sound through lighter gear - Orange bass terror, TC RH450, Aguillar Tonehammer, Ashdown Spyder.....just didnt cut it. SVT is now back in full swing and im back happy again
