  1. Just ordered some rubber feet off maplin for a few quid for this. Sits flush on the cab at the mo so think this will help with rattles and unwanted vibration noises
  2. Wow. Looks like ill be keeping hold of it then. Was that a fully serviced one as well?
  3. Mrs-just-found-that-id-snook-this-back-into-the-house-from-the-studio type bump
  4. Also on Ebay and Gumtree but will pull for decent BCer offer
  5. Not to hijack a thread but pretty sure my Sound City head is a 70's amp. Certianly nails that sound thru some 15's with a flats loaded P bass
  6. Heres pics finally. Just to reiterate - the tolex is tatty but amp is fully serviced and in working order. For the purists i did get a quote a while ago from Matamp to fully retolex the amp at £120. As before offers welcome but no trades at the mo im afraid. 7. Played this very bass at MBL. Very nice!
  8. How much do they go for skelf? Also are they smooth as described above or gapped like roto's?
  9. the price mainly and i felt that they felt a bit 'slack'
  10. ah cheers for that. Fairly new to flats having so far tried Roto's, TI's and picatto's. The main thing i didnt like about the picattos was their complete smoothness. Have considered the status halfwounds but think i do want that full on flats tone. Roto's it is then i think
  11. Very Quick question... Can anyone tell me if these are smooth flats as per Picattos or do they still have a reasonable 'gap' in the windings as per Roto flats?
  12. Sorry to bump an old thread for a second time....Recently fitted mytelebass with DR Fatbeams, likes i used to use back in the day - however, i still have flats on my p-bass and really wondered how the tele would sound with a set. I expect full on wollyness but surely with the tone control and a bit of EQing i could get away with a set? Anyone tried a set of roto flats on?
  13. Had a couple of Kiogons kits including a special 'mini pot' one he knocked up for a particularly small routed P. Great bits of kit and always happy with them in my project P's
  14. Cheers for the nod towards my for sale gear guys. It is a great set up and id consider offers for the full rig. Unfortunately ive never shipped anything so big/heavey/delicate and my reluctance to is probably costing me a sale. Back OT, id wanted a valve rig for ages and was not disappointed when i finally got one. The whole sound is just amazing, its warm and fuzzy and perfect for what i wanted. Unfortunately the lanlord at the Royal Oak dosent agree and as such im down sizing. Ill never beat the sound ive had with the SC unless i go all valve again one day - so id say if you can bag a local all valve amp then go for it, you wont be disappointed!
  15. Would make good looking wardrobe for a small person
  16. Considering an offer via gumtree of £120 but delivered to Sheffield. Any advances?
  17. BUMP taking up studio space and encroaching on the guitarists corner. Seriously, any cash offers considered - need it gone
  18. Got mine today in a great deal from Thomann. Opened it up and mine has a JJAX7 in the main position then a no-name chinese AX7B behind the UV Metre. Ive ordered a Brimar AX7 that ill pit in instead of the JJ and a Brimar 12AT7 to switch in place of the chinese. Hopefully this will give a bit of breakup but not too much fuzz. If it dosent overdrive slightly ill replace the AT7 with the JJ AX7 it came with. This sound ok?
