1. Monckyman, you're pretty local i believe from speaking to Si (wooks). Your welcome to try it out thru either yours or my rig, no obligation of course. Really gassing for one of them there Vintage Modified Precision TB's now
2. Would consider trading this plus cash for a Squier Vintage Modified Precision TB in sunburst
3. One n only pricedrop to £110 collected from manchester or delivered within reasonable distance for petrol/beer tokens
4. As some of you know im one of very few on here who absolutely love my Burns Bison bass. Love the looks, feel and tone. Only thing i dont like is the number of options on it, i prefer something with volume n tone and thats it. I recently got myself a squier P project that i have mocked up to look like an old 70's P (burst and tort) and as such im really into the whole vintage fendery thing. So much so that im thinking of getting rid of all my basses (inc the Bison) and just keeping the Squier P......and once of these bad boys... http://www.soundslive.co.uk/product~name~Squier-Vintage-Modified-Precision-Bass-TB~ID~6973.asp Im selling my pino copy in the for sale section so im now really tempted to offer my Bison to get me on of these Squier VM's. Please someone talk me out of it. LeftBiskit didnt help much last night when he said ''Just buy one''
5.
If that's with David Pye it's money very well spent.
It certainly was, taking him up on the quote after payday
6. I know theres a stigma attached to the name Encore. However, these early 90's one really are decent bits of kit as opposed to the ones you see in argos today. See this old BC discussion on them... 9. My completed project was a pleasure but its really just being an ornament at the moment so im offering it up for sale here. After much research I believe it is an early 90’s encore. There is a thread on the Bass Guitar section of this site that discusses them. I got it off the bay where it was advertised as a Squire with a fender decal. The bass was filthy when I got it and so after a good clean up I decided I wanted to get the Pino/Classic Vibe Squier look with tort plate. I whipped the useless stock pups out and the corroded wiring. Fitted a custom built (mini pots) Kiogon harness and some Axesrus pickups (very impressive set with same specs as wizard thumpers but potted) and straight away the bass sounded miles better. I got Howard (Bass Doc ) to knock me up a custom tort pickguard from the original white one (very retro, naturally yellowed which ill chuck in with the sale). New pickguard screws from axesrus (the old ones were severely corroded) and a thumb rest/tug bar. Swapped out the weird string tree for a more ‘fendery’ one I had in my parts box All cleaned up and fitted I did a full set-up and got the action comfortable for me. Being a pick player it is still slightly high but there is plenty of ‘go’ left in the truss and saddles to lower it. Id say at a push it may need a new nut, either that or just re-grooving a little. Previous owner applied some sort of Fender decal (dosent appear to be waterslide) and this is under a few layers of laquer and what looks like light wood stain. The tuners are VERY good and resemble the early Reverse tuners very well. The neck is rather chunky. Not that wide exactly but certainly more C shaped than D (if that makes any sense!). So in total:- Bass - £65 Pups - £25 Wiring - £25 P/Guard - £20 (I think) Screws - £3 TugBar - £5ish Picato Flats - £15 + set up and damn good clean by me

£158.00
Welcome to come and try it out through my rig (or yours if you want to cart it J. Price wise ill accept £130 with no trades at the mo and not really desperate to get rid so no offers (yet haha). Pics to follow although there are some on the most recent page of the Precisions thread of the gear porn section. Any questions let me know EDIT: Further investigation seems to suggest it could also be a Sunn Mustang - sorry for the vagueness!
10. Some great looking P's in here. Alas im really not getting much use out of my red/tort/rosewood one in my picture. Im using the burst as a back up to my bison and as such thinking of banging it in the for sale thread. Done a fair bit of work on it tho so will be looking at around £140 for it
11. Could do with getting mine serviced at some point but no way would i pay £500. Ive been quoted crica £60 which would iclude full service, any cap's replacing and valves tested but not replaced. This was from a guy in Preston. Will get it done after payday methinks
12. Could be tempted to part with my Sound City B120 (complete with Mullard valves) if its of any use?
13. drop The Bass Doc a pm. He has knocked me up a few custom P bass ones using the oringinal as a template
14. Here are my two finished projects. The red one - early 90's encore. Replaced the white pickguard with a tort one. Replaced electrics with a custom made Kiogon wiring harness with mini pots due to the tiny cavity. Replaced stock white pups with Axesrus own brand ones. Strung with roto flats and added the tug bar. Left to do - full set up, maybe new nut, maybe Wizard Thumper The 'burst one - Squier affinity P. Replaced squier tuners with so no-name jazz ones sourced on here, added thumbrest, replaced wiring with standard kiogon harness, wizard trad pups, picatto flatwounds. Did fit bridge cover but prefer the look without it. Fully set up with super low comfy action. Left to do - maybe replace strings with roto flats or hotwires, picatto a bit 'dull' and 'dubby'
15. Just recieved my second custom made scratchplate off Howard. As before it fits perfect, not just that but he sorted out making the pot holes bigger to accomodate the CTS pots. Kept me upto date throughout, highly recommended
16. Would love this.....if only is was the 100w version or even better the 135
17. I agree with Geoff, Axesrus have been a godsend since i started tinkering with P basses. My 'go-to' online store now
18. Bought a tort plate from silentbob. Hassle free and no problems at all.
19. Thems the exact kind of tuners im after for my Bison, black Van Ghent style

Bitsa P

How are you finding those pups? I had a look at them for my P bass project but havent taken the plunge yet
21. Hmmmm, im a bit stuck what to do here. My original choice was going to be a Wizard THumper. Then i considered the Fender Originals, just because of the genuine old school p bass thump. However, this USA set have been offered cheap (circa £30) but im not sure how good the new stuff is? Say in comparison to what the MIM's come loaded with how would the USA's perform?
