  1. Some great looking P's in here. Alas im really not getting much use out of my red/tort/rosewood one in my picture. Im using the burst as a back up to my bison and as such thinking of banging it in the for sale thread. Done a fair bit of work on it tho so will be looking at around £140 for it
  2. Could do with getting mine serviced at some point but no way would i pay £500. Ive been quoted crica £60 which would iclude full service, any cap's replacing and valves tested but not replaced. This was from a guy in Preston. Will get it done after payday methinks
  3. Could be tempted to part with my Sound City B120 (complete with Mullard valves) if its of any use?
  4. drop The Bass Doc a pm. He has knocked me up a few custom P bass ones using the oringinal as a template
  5. Here are my two finished projects. The red one - early 90's encore. Replaced the white pickguard with a tort one. Replaced electrics with a custom made Kiogon wiring harness with mini pots due to the tiny cavity. Replaced stock white pups with Axesrus own brand ones. Strung with roto flats and added the tug bar. Left to do - full set up, maybe new nut, maybe Wizard Thumper The 'burst one - Squier affinity P. Replaced squier tuners with so no-name jazz ones sourced on here, added thumbrest, replaced wiring with standard kiogon harness, wizard trad pups, picatto flatwounds. Did fit bridge cover but prefer the look without it. Fully set up with super low comfy action. Left to do - maybe replace strings with roto flats or hotwires, picatto a bit 'dull' and 'dubby'
  6. Just recieved my second custom made scratchplate off Howard. As before it fits perfect, not just that but he sorted out making the pot holes bigger to accomodate the CTS pots. Kept me upto date throughout, highly recommended
  7. Would love this.....if only is was the 100w version or even better the 135
  8. I agree with Geoff, Axesrus have been a godsend since i started tinkering with P basses. My 'go-to' online store now
  9. Bought a tort plate from silentbob. Hassle free and no problems at all.
  10. Thems the exact kind of tuners im after for my Bison, black Van Ghent style

    Bitsa P

How are you finding those pups? I had a look at them for my P bass project but havent taken the plunge yet
  12. Hmmmm, im a bit stuck what to do here. My original choice was going to be a Wizard THumper. Then i considered the Fender Originals, just because of the genuine old school p bass thump. However, this USA set have been offered cheap (circa £30) but im not sure how good the new stuff is? Say in comparison to what the MIM's come loaded with how would the USA's perform?
  13. Ive been after some pups for my latest P bass project and have been offered this set. The pups have come out of a 2008 USA p bass. Would these then be the same as the Fender Originals you can buy for circa £60?
  14. John sorted me out with a mini pot loom after my cheapo bass turned out to have a tiny cavity. JOhn was very accomodating after seeing pictures of the original pots and bass. Turned the harness round very quickly and looks quality as always
  15. Such is the market i will consider part ex for a decent P bass pickup. Either the Fender Original or Wizard Thumper kinda lines
  16. Great amps these. I ran its big brother (HA5500) thru an Ashdown mag rig of 410 & 115. Monsterous tone
  17. Do these things exists? Do they make covers for 5 strings? Ive fitted one to my squier project fine (lloks amazing on a burst/tort combo) but the bridge on my early 90's Encore seems to be more 'substnatial'. I wouldnt mind fitting one on it but dont fancy replacing the bridge - so do they make larger P bass bridge covers or is it just a standard size?
  18. Looking good Len. The tuners did indeed come from a Korean Squier Affinity P bass
  19. Loving the Trads i have in my squier project bass. Im after some thumpers for my next project
  20. spineynorman - im about to fit a p bass bridge cover. Do you mean the cover should be touching the bridge i.e pushed up against it?
  21. Bought a p bass bridge cover off Gaf. Ariived quickly and exactly as described. Not hesitations dealing with Gaf again. Very smooth transaction. Cheers pal
