Bitsa P

How are you finding those pups? I had a look at them for my P bass project but havent taken the plunge yet
5. Hmmmm, im a bit stuck what to do here. My original choice was going to be a Wizard THumper. Then i considered the Fender Originals, just because of the genuine old school p bass thump. However, this USA set have been offered cheap (circa £30) but im not sure how good the new stuff is? Say in comparison to what the MIM's come loaded with how would the USA's perform?
6. Ive been after some pups for my latest P bass project and have been offered this set. The pups have come out of a 2008 USA p bass. Would these then be the same as the Fender Originals you can buy for circa £60?
7. John sorted me out with a mini pot loom after my cheapo bass turned out to have a tiny cavity. JOhn was very accomodating after seeing pictures of the original pots and bass. Turned the harness round very quickly and looks quality as always
8. Such is the market i will consider part ex for a decent P bass pickup. Either the Fender Original or Wizard Thumper kinda lines
9. Great amps these. I ran its big brother (HA5500) thru an Ashdown mag rig of 410 & 115. Monsterous tone
10. Do these things exists? Do they make covers for 5 strings? Ive fitted one to my squier project fine (lloks amazing on a burst/tort combo) but the bridge on my early 90's Encore seems to be more 'substnatial'. I wouldnt mind fitting one on it but dont fancy replacing the bridge - so do they make larger P bass bridge covers or is it just a standard size?
11. Looking good Len. The tuners did indeed come from a Korean Squier Affinity P bass
12. Deadline day bump
13. Loving the Trads i have in my squier project bass. Im after some thumpers for my next project
14. spineynorman - im about to fit a p bass bridge cover. Do you mean the cover should be touching the bridge i.e pushed up against it?
15. Bought a p bass bridge cover off Gaf. Ariived quickly and exactly as described. Not hesitations dealing with Gaf again. Very smooth transaction. Cheers pal
16. Rickenbacker 4005 in Fireglow Ampeg SVT AV head Ampeg SVT AV 8x10
17. Been after one of them heads for ages, already got the matching 2x15 cab, unfortunately everytime a cheapish one comes up im skint
18. Up ont gumtree. Will pull for BCers. Now sorted for a red P so cash only now im afraid
19. Just got one of these myself for a project off ebay. Got it for £60 - seems in decent nick apart from needing a bloody good clean. I plan to get a custom made tort plate fitted and hopefully throw in some Wizard Trads or Thumpers. Add some flats to it and a tumbe rest and away i go.
20. Decided to take a punt on this. Picked it up this morning after haggling a £60 price tag. The bass was filthy but definitely has potential. The electrics are shot and the frets big brass efforts. I plan to rewire it with some Wizard Thumpers or Trads, fit a tort plate, flats and give it a damn good clean! Really nice player acoustically and the frets seem easy enough to get on with. The logo is wierd, it doesnt seem to be a waterslide decal, more like its almost branded or burnt into the headstock the lacquered over. Will try and do a build diary on it.
21. Ive been told by the seller he'll accept a bid of £65, this is local-ish to me so might be worth a punt
22. My acoustic bass in the for sale forum
23. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SQUIER-FENDER-PR...889309540164146 Says squier bass with fender decal but the neck lacks the usual squier skunk stripe and i cant see a truss rod hole on the headstock so assume its at the body end, did squier ever do this? Im after a red squire to 'tart' up with a tort scratch, wizard pups and a KIOgon wiring loom but feel this might be an even cheaper brand than squier?
24. If money was no object id have a Rickenbacker 4005 in fireglo and play it everyday
