1. Any ideas what a set of 6 EL34's are worth at all. Ive seen some wierd things on ebay whilst checking. Some individual tubes going for big money whilst quads or pairs going for not a lot. Very new to the whole valve thing

Sold...

I can vouch for how good Wizard Trads sound in these. Mines sounds amazing with flats!
3. Last bump as promised before i try and flog the mullards on ebay
4. Im working on ANOTHER p-bass project. THis time is just a completely blank body. I have all the bits apart from the sponge/foam blocks that go under the pickups to push the pole peices thru the pickup covers. Do they actually sell these as a custom product or do people just use pan-scourers and the like? Never had to put new pickups into a body that didnt have any that i was replacing so ive always just nicked it off the old pickups.
5. Finally decided. Ill give this till maybe monday, if no interest i might try and flog the valves on the bay (dunno what ill do with the rest of it haha)
6. Might give that a go. Theres a number of 'cheap' bassmans around at the mo so really could do with raising some funds
7. Really tempted to try and sell the mullards alone on ebay. Ive seen the prices some go for on there and am tempted. As mentioned i dont have a valve tester, anyone sold valves 'untested' but clearly working before?
8. Cheeky bump, still under the bed but potential new amp purchase means im lookin for funds
9. Just sorting pics now. Have been tempted to sell the mullards alone on ebay to see what they fetch. Only prob is i dont have a valve tester to determine how much life is in them. Pics to follow in 10
10. One of my usual ‘’Feelers’’ this one . Ive got an old Sound City B120 all valve bass amp that im considering replacing with one of a few Fender Bassman’s ive seen dotted around. Whilst mine is fully working AND comes loaded with Mullard EL34’s (all six of the power valves!) it is cosmetically tatty. The tolex is ripped in several areas and a previous owner has taken it upon themselves the remedy the missing tolex but painting the while thing black (well the bits that are meant to be black anyway). This has resulted in some of the exposed wood also being painted black. Dosent in anyway effect the usability or sound, purely cosmetic. Also the back ‘Sticker’ that denotes what all the switches and various sockets do is rather tatty and worn (again purely cosmetic). I have been using the amp with a Fender 2x15 cab and the sound is fantastic. With my flats-loaded P bass it gives a good vintage and breathy thump. Ive only ever cranked this at one rehearsal. I say cranked but I got it to about ‘6’ on the volume before I drowned out the drummer and guitarist. Good old vintage tone with plenty of depth and warmth. Pricing – I thought long and hard about this. Wooks recently advertised his for £500 on here if I remember right and his is immaculate. Given that as a bench mark ill say £350. Purely due to the Mullards it comes with (6 of these costs a fortune). P.S I don’t know its ‘service history’ so I would certainly recommend any buyer gets one done. It works fine and ive NEVER had an issue with it but old valve amps do need a bit of TLC from time to time. Of course you are welcome to bring your own bass down/up to Manchester for a test of it. Pics to follow. No trades at the mo (other than a Fender Bassman 135). Collection only from Manchester – though could be travelling to see a few Bassmans so delivery might be an option. Again its only a feeler, im not desperate to get rid and will happily keep on using it as my main amp. Any questions? PPS - As the pics will show i have replaced the usual 'Multi coloured' Sound City buttons with Hiwatt Style chickenhead buttons
11. Ive got one of the MkI reissues and abolutely love it. The mark II's are a bit poorer build quality and the more recent ones seem very flimsy. Its my main bass and is the coolest looking bass ive had (mines the all black version)
12. Orange Terror Bass - Bog standard hybrid amp. Valve amps - proper amps
13. Would have one after trying one. However, im far too sold on valve amps now to consider going back to solid state/hybrid amps
14. Anyone know of the top of their heads what size alan key a Squier Affinity P bass takes for truss rod adjustment?
15. I can vouch for both these amps and Si. The amps are bloody lovely, proper old school vintage valve sound and this one is immauculate. Si is a top guy to deal with too. Someone will get one hell of an amp here for very little.
16. A fender bassman 135 head? Been after one of them badboys for a while. Ive got the matching 2x15 cab
17. Is that cut to a P bass type shape? If so im asuming a Squier P would fit pretty snug?
18. Back under the bed it is then. Cant drop any further so will drag it back out in a few months to see if any interest has grown
19. Good call. I emailed the seller for measurements as being for guitar i wasnt sure it'd fit and low and behold it was nowhere near big enough to house my original bridge
20. Ive been after a bridge cover for my bison bass for some time. It needs to be semi circular in shape to resemble the original burns covers. Ive come across this vintage bridge on the bay... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Electric-Guitar-...=item3369962013 and wondered how easy it would be to cut the string slots off to leave that side fully open and just use it as a bridge cover? Ive emailed the seller with my bridge measurements and asked him to measure the internals on this but was thinking if i could just cut the slots of and file down the remnants?
21. One last price drop then its back under the bed till more interest grows. £90
