1. Consider any P-bassy (squier etc) though ideally want sunbust with r/wood fretboard.
2. This has been sitting under my bed for ages untouched so as part of the clearout this needs to go. Im awaiting the mrs to get some pics on her digi cam but this is a webshot of one... http://www.axemusic.co.uk/products/Vintage...ss_VCB430N.html Comes with very hard to find hardcase, the super long neck meant it too AGES to find a fitting case. Now to its only problem....I think it needs the jack socket connection looking at. When pluggged in it can sometimes cut in and out. This is solved by pushing down on the jack of the lead so should be just a loose conection but i honestly dont know. Has the 4 band EQ and battery check button on the onboard EQ and takes std 9v battery. Price wise im really not sure. The above link suggests £200 brand new. As mine is used and given the above problem plus it coming with a slightly bruised but solid hard case ill say £140 collected from Manchester? If this sounds too dear let me know. Tradewise id consider anything P bass ish in sunburst with a rosewood neck.
3. http://www.demontguitars.com/Images/Aria%2...nt-full_jpg.htm My iphone pics arent that great (they looked it after a few beers last night) so ive nicked some from this site while i wait for the mrs to lend me her digicam. Will now also consider trades for a Squier P bass in sunburst with R/wood fretboard. Actualy pics to follow shortly
4. Must admit im in the ''not for me'' group. They try to hard to sound like Valve amps to the point it sounds like some has jabbed a screwdriver thru your speakers. Its not valve 'break-up' just a cheap sounding distortion. Ill stick to my valve amp
5. Recently had the volume and tone pots changed in my bison. Things have been fine since then but last night i plugged in and all i got was crackling, this was before i even touched a string or owt! It calmed down a bit but then kicked back in. Ive tried my other bass through the same lead/set-up and there are no issues so definitely seems to be the bison. Moneys tight at the mo so wondering if anyone can suggest possible diagnosis before i send it back off to my guitar techs.

ive got the fireglo one. Amazing deep and fat tone. Needs a good set-up once you get it but after that its a VERY sweet bass
7. you mention you found Hartke's good? Have you tried the HA5500? I had one recently and loved it, only moved it on as i wanted an all valve effort
8. off on a completely different slant here but Retrovibe RV4? Very comfy body, lightweight and very thin, precision feel neck with two bloody whackin MM style humbuckers in it?
9. isnt the Little Bastard an ALL valve unlike the orange?
10. Bumping an old thread. The guitar is still sat under my bedc so back up for sale at £80. Pics to follow asap
11. running my thru an old Fender Bassman 2x15, sounds the muts nuts
12. 4005 - my dream bass. Please make me one too
13. This was my amp and can vouch for its realiability. Tom's a good guy to deal with too. Free Bump!
14. ive got a B120 Mk4 and love it, run it thru a Bassman 2x15 and it sounds immence, mines loaded with 6 x Mullard EL34's, not sure what pre-amp valves are in it tho, never looked
15. Rickenbacker 4005. My dream bass. One day Pow, One day
OMG, this one is SOOOOOoooooo COOOOOooooooooooooool......
17. Sounds perfect pete. Id be up for a swap. Im similar in that im pretty sure one is decent (its heavey anyway) whereas the other might be a bit cheaper (seems more light). Ill happily stick both in the post for you in exchange for yours. Ill also check on makes and length tonight and drop you a PM. Cheers also MB1. I did pm someone off the Wanted forum but they'd already got sorted. EDIT: Just noticed we share the same city as our abode so maybe a meet up could save P&P
18. Ive got 2 x Speakon To Jack cables that i used to use on my Ashdown rig. However, now ive gone all vintagey and got my old Fender cab and Sound city head i need to get a decent jack-jack speaker cable to link the amp and cab. At the mo im using a cheap patch lead that im sure wount be doing any good. Looking for something well built and fairly short it poss. My patch lead is about 30cm so something round that would be ideal. Will measure and check the Speakons for names/brands etc when i get home
19. Just had a look at the Tradetang website. I know they are fakes but i cant help but love that hollow body EB2 style bass.
20. Tom bought a slightly used set of DR Fatbeams off me recently. Very smooth transaction and absolutely no issues. Pleasure to deal with
21. Took me a while and a set of Thomastik Flats on my Retrovibe to convert but now everything ive got is flat loaded and i was the staunchest user of DR Fatbeams going!
22. i had its big brother (HA5500) and ran it thru an Ashdown MAG 410 and MAG 115, amazing sound. I played at the Ruby Lounge in Manchester and every one of our support bands had brought their own amps but ended up using my rig due to its sound. Only reason i reluctently disbanded that rig was major valve GAS
