Sorry for the delay in replying peeps. USB cable for my phone is on its way so pics will be up very shortly. Im not so good on back line techincals but i have been told only the AH1000 will power the whole cab. If you know differently then fair enough, you are welconme to try your head thru the cab (based in Bolton). As i mentioned the carpet at the bottom of the cab is a little tatty and the front grill has a couple of small scratched but nothing to major. Pis will follow very shortly.

Just sold my Epi LP std bass and matching epi case to fund a Burns Bison. They are VERY loud and sometimes can be a bit ''Boomy''. Very nice bass tho, had mine for 7 years without a prob. The standards are quite rare now and in my opinion look way better than the specials. If your near bolton mine is still in the local guitar shop tho i dont know what they are asking for it

I currently own (and love!) a club series burns bison bass in black. I noticed some of the original 60's Bisons had an 'ashtray' style bridge cover. Is it possible to still get these covers and if so anyone know if they'll fit the club series re-issues? I expect that if they are stil original 60's covers they may be pretty costly but thought id ask here as i cant seem to find any online anywhere.

Anyone else agree?

Im selling my Trace Elliot BFC 1000w cab as i didnt research properly and dont have the amp to power it. Its a 4x10 top and 1x15 bottom all in one cab. Ive been told it is technically 3 cabs in one (2x2x10 with a tweeter each and the 1x15). Pick up only due to the weight of the thing. Im looking for £200 or would consider trading for the old style grilled Ashdown Mag cabs (either 115 or 410). Will post pic as soon as i can

Anyone any experience with these at all? Ive been a faithful Roto'66 user for years but fancy a change and the description of these has grabbed my attention. They claim to give a ''fatter deeper'' tone. Anyone know if these are any good?

Theres a cheap(ish) second hand one on Coda Music for about £800. Alas ive solved the issue, the epiphone bass has departed and been replaced with an Ashdown MAG 4x10 (straight swap) and they have offered to try n sell the BFC for me which will fund a 1x15 for the bottom. Funnily enough i had this exact setup years ago but sold it all as i wasnt playing n moving into an apartment with me mrs...we split years ago n so it goes ive now come fukll circle! If anyone knows anywhere thats still stocking the MAG gear with the OLD grill styles let me know, im after a 1x15 but HATE the new ashdown grills (i know its petty but its the way i am haha)

Money is REALLY tight at the mo, thats why i bought this cab initially, it was cheaper than the Ashdown 4X10 i was looking at, theres a Marshall dynamic bass system 7152 400W cab on ebay thats quite cheap n they wil courier it for £40. Thing is i do have the BFC and also an Epiphone LP Std Bass that i want rid off so i might just go to the local music shop n see what they'll give me for them and use that against a new cab. Not havin much gear luck at the mo!

Just noticed TE do a few AH amps (300 and 500) both of which are in the 12 band series, would these power the cab or is the ah1000 the ONLY head?
-
Will lug it down to my local guitar shop tommorow and see what they'll give me for it against an ashdown 4x10 or 8x10 then. Shame really as i thought i was getting a bargain on ebay, we live and learn i guess
-
Anyone know how much these cabs are actually worth, guessing not much seeing as only one head can power the thing. I got it off ebay for £150, a bit tatty in places on the carpet covering but seems solid enough.
-
Ahh ok, so effectively unless i shell out for the AH1000 or the power amps i have no chance of powering all the sepakers in the cab?. Maybe it wasnt such a bargain after all, might be time to look for a new cab
-
so effectively it could all be down the lead i was given with the cab i.e this lead is for the matching TE bass head and as im using an Ashdown i need a different lead? Sorry for being thick!

Ive just looked at the SPEAKON efforts on ebay. That is what im using at the moment. Its a Speakon connector that goes into the cab (turns and locks) then a single Jack that goes into the amp. So you think the cab may need rewiring to work with a 'normal' bass head?
-
cheers for the reply peeps. Seems my problem maybe more serious. I use a TE BFC cab (1x15 bottom n 4x10 top all in one cab). Anyways, without previously noticing (only used it twice) it seems only the 15'' is working. Ive started a thread in the Amps section for recommendations. Ta

Hi, they were intended for Bi amping but there is definately only one input socket on the cab, its like a big chunky locking pin, possibly the 4 pole you mentioned. Ill have a sneaky peak behind the input panel to see if theres anything obvious and if not ill have to lug all 87kg of it to an amp tech
-
Cheers for the reply. Im actually in Bolton. There is just one lead that comes from the cab, a kind of ''turn n lock'' pin with one jack to the amp. I assumed it was just a loose connection because there isnt even a hiss or anything from the 4X10's. My main concern was that my head just couldnt power the cab (the cab is 1000w) but i thought they would at LEAST make some sort of noise. Ill have a drive up to the studio where i keep it later armed with a screwdriver n solder iron see if i can see any loose wires. Cheers

First off im totally useless when it comes to amps n cabs. Anyway i got what i thought was a bargain TE BFC cab off ebay. However, i noticed now that only the 1x15 is working and there is absolutely no noise form the 4x10's. I know im using a very underpowered head (Ashdown MAG 300) so i know im not doing the cab justice but it was very cheap. Would the head im using be the cause of this or does (like i assume) it sound like there maybe a loose connection to the 4x10 part of the cab. As i say im fairly amatuer on back line stuff so plain english answers would be very much appreciated.
