If you can't source one from Andertons, maybe make the cavity a little larger to accommodate the gotoh box? Interested to see how you get on with Andertons. My V8 as the New style like yours.

The upcoming active affinity is the one I've got my eye on https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/240610425188008--squier-affinity-series-active-jazz-bass-indian-laurel-fingerboa

The Squire Sonic's are really good for the money also. I have a Burst Sonic which cost me £155 from GAK. It also has a Jazz spec maple neck as standard and the frets were so good out the box. I changed out the pickguard for gold alu one, shielded it, put some Olympia flats on it and fitted some Jazz knobs.

I love my Harley Benton MV-4PJ. 9lb's exact for mine. I'd imagine the straight P variant is probably less! Alder Body, Block and Binded Roasted Maple neck (it is Jazz spec 38mm nut, which suits me due to my smallish hands) with UV dots. The hardware is actually really good. The tuners are decent and the bridge is solid with brass saddles. If i'm honest nothing on it really needs changing for me. The pickups sound good to my ears. Its probably my favourite bass. It was £197 delivered from Thomann!

Here's my Harley Benton JB75 NA Jazz Bass. I picked it up in march and I really love it. She's a heavy girl but I have a nice 3.5" Padded strap to distribute the weight. I've done a few upgrades to it since I've had it and I'm happy with where it is now. I just want to change the scratch guard for a B/W/B one and she will be finished. I've fitted Gotoh GB640 Reso-lite tuning heads, Dimarzio Area J's and a John East J-Tone preamp and Schaller style strap locks. I've also done the shielding, and grounding on it too. Strung with Dunlop Marcus Millers Stainless Steels.

Thats a lovely bass! But i would be kinda inclined to agree as yours looks pretty much exactly like mine! I haven't made any changes except for the scratchplate. For £150 they are a killer instrument. Fretwork was great on mine, and nice low action. Pickups sounded decent considering the cost of the instrument. I just put some cheap flats on mine and I love how it feels to play

I recently picked up these two basses. Sire M2 in Trans Blue Harley Benton MV-PJ4 in Daphne Blue

Thanks for the welcome all! Yeah i guess I should seeing as this is a forum about basses I have two basses, First - Harley Benton JB-75 NA. Really awesome bass for the money. Bit of heft on this one mind! Second is My Squier Sonic Precision in two tone Sunburst. I liked this one as it has a Jazz profile neck, which suits my smallish hands better, Sitting next to my Dads Fender Precision. I think this is the American Special? It says American Special on the back of the headstock and has the 60th Special Anniversary neck plate.
