Welcome - Good luck with the gear hunt, being down in the South West does limit your places to go and try gear out but don't let that stop you
-
Nothing to do with me, just spotted it and thought how this might be of interest to someone on here: EBay Item number: 126847896537 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/126847896537?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=83r_sc74QXK&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=8kZHjSzwTj2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Must have missed that - Many Thanks!

I read that but wasn’t sure if the final value fee only applies to those outside the uk due to how it’s laid out as there is no specific heading for final value fees
-
Having been stung by EBay in the past I'm still sceptical 🤨😏
-
No fee's at all?
-
Is it ok to turn up and pay on the day? Won't have much gear with me as I've lent some out and left the rest in the practice room.
-
What about a small projector, then you don't need any sort of frame, gaffer tape etc? I got one made last year and we either forget to take it or don't have anything to attach it to
-
I'm looking at moving to 5'r as often feel the need for the lower notes but play my 4 with my thumb always rested on the pick-up (as it as a datum to find the requisite string), figured this could be moved to the B string to help muting and keep the datum position - Anyone else do this?
-
Guess difficult to compare to the BB2 as it's very much a different price point and class, useful info though, cheers. Ended up going with a TC208 because I found one cheap and pretty happy with that but might look at the Warwick Gnome 10/4 to add to it when funds allow
-
Why do people have absolutely no consideration for others! Played in small busy venue where people have to walk past the band to get to the toilets and beer garden, got walked into while playing several times (it’s not like I’m small and they wouldn’t see see)
-
Figured that, but appreciate the clarification. As for the food, and not having to eat for a week, you clearly haven’t met me yet🤣
-
@neepheid Thanks - That sounds like a blast, my gear isn't anywhere near as good as most of the stuff on here and doubt anyone would want to try it (but you never know🤣), the opportunity to try different basses is especially appealing as there is very limited selection of instrument outlets near me and I keep seeing gear that looks nice but never sure if I'll get on with it. Biggest worry is the burning jealousy I'll have over all the nice kit and lack of funds to buy any😖 @Frank Blank - That's an impressive recommendation, reckon I need to get that in the diary. @Woodinblack - Thanks, looks like there was some seriously nice kit on show

Gain up,master down,or is it the other way around? (heh that rhymes)
Nos replied to squire5's topic in Repairs and Technical
I found on My Warwick gnome by running the gain up higher makes a punchier overall tone, then I set the master volume to get the sound level I need, so depending how punchy I want the tone I'll adjust accordingly (don't know a better way to describe it but hopefully it makes sense) -
I'll apologise first for the dumb question, but.... What is this exactly? I'm in North Devon so it's not far to come and sounds interesting but I just don't have a clue (this goes for most things by the way😆).

So I bought the gnome ipro and a TC BC208 and tried it out at rehearsals. Rest of the band was impressed with how good it was and although driving the gain quite hard (makes it more punchy in my opinion) had to keep the volume right down, loads of headroom and great sound. Huge thanks to everyone for there advice and reviews as I wouldn’t have given it a go without being on here and pulling from people’s experience 👍

I’ll watch with anticipation Any other versions planned?
-
Read the reviews on lfsys cabs and nothing but amazing feedback so might wait to see when they’re likely to be available (or if I can afford them🤣). Ideally wanted a 2x10 so I only have to carry one cab about. 🤞🏻The gnome hasn’t gone from the marketplace

Thanks for the feedback, I’d not found any independent reviews but if the tc208 pairs that well I can get that and try it on return if it’s not what I want, so nothing lost. There’s a good price 280w gnome just be posted so going to try and buy that👍
-
What cabs are people using these heads with as I'm looking to get the ipro V2 but need a lightweight cab to use with it? There's quite a lot of positive feedback on the amps but nothing on the Warwick gnome cabs as far as I can see (from gigs anyway, someone replied to me about using it for noodling at home that was useful)
-
Useful to know that they still sound good though. Looked at the Trace Elliot elf reviews but without an extension cab the 2x8 will be 130W as it’s an 8ohm cab
-
Something I'm considering. There's loads of reviews on the TC electronics BC208 (which is cheaper) and they're generally really positive but was thinking the 2x10 which is 4ohm might allow more headroom. I was probably thinking of going for the 300W gnome head so pairing it with the same cabs might be a good choice (not based on anything more scientific than hoping that Warwick might have considered this). I've also seem a reasonably priced TE Elf set up but it's quite a bit more and lots of comments of noisy fans....
-
I’ve read a lot of reviews about the Warwick Gnome amps but there doesn’t appear to be much on their cabinets. Has anyone had any experience with the cabinets as I’m think about the 2x8 or 2x10 4ohm with the gnome head as I want something smaller (and more forgiving on my back) than my 30year old TE combo?

I’ll have search on there as that never took me to a specific listing - Thanks though
