I had been home visiting my parents, had a look in the shop and fell for the precision, didn’t buy it, but couldn’t stop thinking about, got my dad to put a deposit on it, and went back the following weekend and bought it.

The bass I’ve had longest is this 1983 Fender Precision ( Dan Smith era ) I bought it new from Monkey Business in Romford. They were advertising the last American built Fenders, it was when the Fullerton factory was closing. I fell in love with the neck. The collection grew from this point.

There’s something fascinating about them al. Played my Jazzes for years, but was always interested in the Gibson basses, so many different styles. I have a lot of Fenders, but a lot more Gibson basses. It’s been Vox, Hofner, Eko basses lately. My biggest surprise is a Top Twenty bass, a very similar model to the first electric bass Jack Bruce played, when he was with the Graham Bond Organisation. They were made by Teisco in Japan, and sold in Woolworths over here in the UK.

Not many 20/20’s were made, and the other two don’t turn up too often. The SB’s don’t show up either, here are my short scale versions from the early 70’s. The SB 300 with the single coils and the SB 350 with the humbuckers.

I’ve had the Thunderbirds a long time, a few more. These were from the same catalogue, 1988 20/20, 1987 IV and the 1985 Q80 I posted earlier.

A few more, 1981 Victory Standard, 1982 Victory Custom, and a 1985 Q80.

I’m still not sure how this site works, or if you can see my Thunderbirds and EB’s etc., but here’s some more.

Starting to get the hang of it, my 1964 Thunderbird II, 1965 Embassy Deluxe and 1965 non reverse Thunderbird II.

I’m still struggling with working out what buttons to push, good job I’m not flying a bomber, I’d be dangerous.👍

No problem, love my Gibson’s. Got plenty of Fenders though, but a Rivoli is my bass of choice. 👍

Introducing myself, been trying to play for 60 years, since 1964, starting to get the hang of it now, more so than dealing with technology, trying to get through these questions 😁. I do suffer from multiple bass disorder, just find them all fascinating, every single one is different to the next. my earliest bass is a 1953 Gibson EB, upto recent Gibson basses.
