  1. The 604 (Natural finish) was my first bass, I still have it, although I've refinished it a couple of times, everything else is stock. It's a great bass, especially for the price.
  2. I'm really tempted by the BBP34, I just wish it came in some more interesting colour finishes. If I can find one at the right price I may well have it refinished I suppose. Does anyone know the difference between the version 1 & 2?
  3. The only difference between the "standard" v2 and the WBIM version is a swap to a 12AU7 valve (and the logo). I bought a v2 before there was a wbim iteration, it's great, I've tried a few different valves in there, NOS 12AU7, which had a nice sound but didn't quite break up enough for me and wasn't quite as loud an output. I've settled on a 12AT7 at the moment which I really like, plenty of output, can get a little bit wooly if the gain is up high, but plenty of range of just that warm fattening sound that was the main goal.
  4. Quick question for this thread, more out of curiosity than anything else, but I recently acquired a BB2000 (my third BB) and I hadn't realised/expected that the bridge pickup appears not to have any single coil hum when soloed. While it could just be that when I've been trying it out I happen to be in the ideal position for it to be quiet etc, but I'd moved about a bit with the amp up pretty loud. Does anyone know if they're constructed in a way to avoid the hum etc? Either way, a pleasant surprise on what is already a great playing and sounding bass.
  5. Another happy owner of a finally v2, although I have the non bass in mind version that shipped with the 12AX7, I've tried out an AU7 and currently have a 12AT7 in it which is my favourite so far. I also bought an underground accelerator at the same time and have a "More" on the way so definitely a convert to the Sushibox pedals. The way this has made me enjoy my bass sound more is incredible, somehow there's more clarity and warmth at the same time, I can definitely recommend them, and seeing how Nathan interacts on talkbass and his attention to detail and desire to continually refine and improve everything really sets him apart from most manufacturers.
  6. Hi all, I'm in Maldon, used to be in Colchester for uni and a few years after, originally from Bedfordshire, so not the most glamorous story of moving around the country/world
  7. If the current owner of this bass is interested in selling then please let me know as I may well be interested.
  8. Hi all, long time forum reader, thought I should finally sign up. Played bass on and off for 20 years, started as my second instrument at uni (Saxophone is my first). Some-time gigging bassist, although less than I used to, a fan of Jazz, Funk, Soul, Pop, Used to be into heavier rock although I don't play much of it. I own far more basses and equipment than I need, but that's always the way. Big fan of Yamaha basses, if you own any 80s Japanese BB series basses and are looking to sell I may very well be interested.
