  1. Must be passive or have the option to switch from active to passive. Prefer short scale as I have small hands but if I have to make a sacrifice somewhere then standard scale. I dont like woodgrain finishes. I play a rnage of genres and current basses are Sterling ray34's. Ive looked up the following: Rapier Saffire Schecter Banshee Sire Marcus Miller Budget is around £500 so any suggestions. I dont mind used but am very wary of scams so it sort of puts me off of ebay etc
  2. Thanks. Im just wondering if its the battery clip as the connector that goes to the red wire is really tight (broke my nail trying to get if off) while the other connector came off really easy. Maybe its too loose?
  3. No, sorry shouldve mentioned thats been checked and is fine
  4. Always one 🙄
  5. Ive since tried another amp and same problem. This amp has a VU meter and the needle barely moves when i play. Put my friends bass through same amp and with gain & master way way lower its ear splittingly loud and needle moves how it should. So it seems that the output from my bass is minimal. Battery & leads have been checked and checked again no crackling to suggest loose wiring so Im stumped as to why the output is so low
  6. I have a Sterling Ray34 by MM and having to turn volume & gain up on amp to a ridiculous level to get heard. Thought it was the amp but have since tried a friends amp which he uses in his band. Same thing happens. Have to turn up gain & master for my bass to be heard and the VU meter needle barely moves meaning putput fron my bass is very low. The VU meter needle shows good output from my friends bass and he has gain & volume set way way lower and its loud. Ive tried several brand nee batteries, checked leads theres no crackling from jack or anywhere else to suggest loose wiring. Stumped so any advice would be appreciated
  7. Why you selling and is it still under warranty?
  8. I play in a 5 piece rock band: 2 guitarists drummer, bass and singer. No soundman & dont go through PA; just a backline. Im finding it difficult to hear my amp and last gig my output was switched to full with gain & master at 75% and vintage button pressed in. I got this combo as so many rave reviews about how loud it is & of course lightweight. Replaced my LM800 head & 4x10 cab which barely went above 25% on master vol. I know Im only 400w but surely that should cut through? Or maybe we are just too loud? Am I best off getting the 115 extension cab or 2x10?
  9. To be honest my blue sparkle Sterling Ray 34 sounds as good as my Musicman Ray34. The maple fretboard produces such a lovely tone so I guess it's my favourite. Genre is a tough one. I probably lean more towards indie rock light rock.
  10. 4 yrs ago I sold my amplification: a markbass LM2 coupled with the 104hf cab. Ideally I would like to get something that is less weighty but will provide the same volume and cut through as my new band dont go through the PA; just use a backline. Playing in pubs, clubs, halls to between 50 - 250 people. As Im out of touch with theblatest fear I wondered if anyone can recommend such. TIA
