I love Quo , their last ever gig at Milton Keynes in 84 was a belter ! Seen them many times and never seen them have a bad gig

I would be interested in coming to this depending on where and when it is.

I tried watching their set , the bass player's facial expressions made for difficult viewing. Plus the music was bland and forgettable.

I use my amp so I can hear my bass.

I thought they were interesting . Not my cup of tea and I couldn't listen to them for a long time but at least they do something different.

I watched vampire weekend doing their set , that was truly dire. They also have beards.

As a big headline act I would expect to know at least 1 or 2 of their songs due to their popularity. I couldn't even name 1. I don't understand the trend for beards in bands either.

I like the stones. I've seen them live and I like the fact they are not over polished and perfect. I thought they were good at Glastonbury from what I saw on telky. I know it's only rock n roll , but I like it .....

They are crap and the fact that they are a headline act is just plain ridiculous.

The Ben Miller Band do it better , check them out.

The stones are always a bit loose live , they're a proper rock n roll band

I've had my ABM 300 for 11 years now I think and it's superb. Never gone wrong and always sounds great. I don't like Ashdown cabs much and have always used cabs by other companies , I think thats where the woolly reputation comes from but the heads are great. I find the ABM pre amp really easy to use , huge sounding and everything from deep and warm to clear and bright. I would put my ABM against any class D amp , including the Streamliner , and it will sound better through the right cabs. I think the power transformer in them makes a big difference to the sound.

[/quote] Through the PA it is then being 'coloured' by the PA rig , desk , crossovers , amps , compressors etc etc. If you want to hear your bass totally uncoloured , don't plug it in !

At the price that these cabs are I find it amazing that you should have to worry about the feet falling off !!

Given your location , wouldn't it be easier to just spend a day at Bass Direct ? You can try out a vast array of cabs , apart from Barefaced , and if you make a decision you could buy it and take it home with you.

I have a vanderkley 212mnt cab and It's fantastic. Very clear and detailed sound , very even across It's frequency range . Best thing is to try one with your head and see if It's for you though. I chose it over bergantino and genz benz cabs as it was just better to my ears , more 3 dimensional sounding . If you can get to bass direct with your bass and amp then you can give them a go and compare to lots of other cabs which is much better than buying blind and taking a chance .

I hope Ashdown don't start making all the ABM range with class D power stages eventually. Part of what makes the ABM huge sound is the power stage transformer. I haven't tried the class D ABM yet but I fear that it might lack something like a lot of other Class D amps do.
