I'm definately interested in a Ray 34. It's a great bass for £400 less than i can get a Stingray 2eq new. I don't care what the resale value is as i play my basses , not keep them for a bit and sell them. I also want to buy a new bass not a second hand one so these are great value. Sure they may not be quite the same as a true Musicman but are they £400 worse in sound and quality ? I don't think so. I'm not bothered what name is on the headstock either , if it sounds and feels right to me then thats good enough i say !

Spangly BFB Compact in da house!
skychaserhigh replied to wateroftyne's topic in Repairs and Technical
Heartless and crass ?? Not at all, i have just lost interest since the idea of the tour started , i thought it would have moved on quicker than it has thats all. I didn't know this compact had been taken off the tour , looks like a lack of communication to me. I'm aware of the reasons for some of the delays but as explained i have now lost interest for the time being. Perhaps i'm just not as much of a gear junkie as some of you !! Cheers , Dave. -

I'm taking my name off the compact tour list. Seems the 2 week maximum time for keeping it has been totally ignored and i have lost interest due to the long wait since it was first announced !! Cheers , Dave. -
It's a valve fliptop called the Drophead apparently, i have seen a couple more pics of it on twitter. Looks quite sexy i must admit !!

I had to ask her where it was too , she was very nice and very helpful !!

I agree about taking a breather. I went outside , took stuff to my car and generally kept to quiet areas inbetween clinics. The trade stands are not that interesting to me , i enjoy the masterclasses best. That 'Neil bloke' was very good too !!
-
I really enjoyed the day too. I didn't spend too much time looking at the gear stands as i didn't want to buy anything and as others have said found it frustrating hearing slapping everywhere !! I don't understand why people just don't try gear with simple bass lines. As Victor said , the amazing technical players only seem to play on you tube or at clinics as they don't get gigs with bands. I found the clinics really inspiring.Great stories and playing from all players and some great pieces of advice too. Mo Foster was fantastic , really enjoyed his Fender workshop , even Victor sat in and listened for a while ! Billy proved again to be a true gent going over and above what was expectd from him.I really like the way he hides nothing and has time for everyone. I may go next year depending who will be appearing , well done to Stevie !

Why not just get another 8 ohm cab and run the head at 4 ohms ?
-
I had one of these cables and the same thing happened to mine after only a few months. Eventually the silent neutrik connector packed in too. Load of crap and waste of money in my opinion. Dave.

I have had my Hartke 410 and 210 transporter cabs for around 8 years and they have always given me a punchy sound with plenty of low end. I retired them for a year but then ended up using them again , superb cabs and at todays prices they are amazing value for money.

Here is a photo of White Van Man with Sean Ruane , Holly and the silver fox at 'This Morning' after our performance there yesterday....

Hi Paul , just use the VT into your amp then use the di on the amp. Thats the way i do it and it's great ! Dave.

White Van Man with Sean Ruane will be performing 'Viva Englandia' on ITV's 'This Morning' on Monday 7th June. Check it out and get behind the lads !!

Never have to pay for rehersal space again
skychaserhigh replied to KingPrawn's topic in Accessories and Misc
A few years ago we bought a headphone amp that allowed the whole band to plug in so we could rehearse silently. It was a basic version of this and worked ok. Our drummer used electronic pads so noise was kept to a minimum. We only used it a couple of times though as you just don't get the same feel as from playing at normal levels. Dave. -
Viva Englandia video had it's first tv showing today with Tony Audenshaw on Loose Women , check it out on ITV.com if you missed it !

Viva Englandia by White Van Man , featuring Emmerdale's Tony Audenshaw and top opera singer Sean Ruane is released 24th May on iTunes and 7 digital.com. The perfect song to take England to world cup victory !!

Nice one Alex , all looks good to me. Really looking forward to trying it out. Dave.

Viral fan club ?? No , i just found the thread and posted my experience with the cables !!
-
The quality of Pete Cornish cables really is second to none. Yes they are a bit pricey but very much value for money. Build quality is perfect and they do sound much better than any other cable i have used and i have used many cables over the years !

Superb customer service , I have always found them great to deal with.

All this growling and burping is very confusing !! I just like a bass to sound like a bass !!

Anyone using EB Group III flats?
skychaserhigh replied to dave_bass5's topic in Accessories and Misc
I have been using these flats for around 2 years now and they are superb. I use them on my P bass and recently changed to roundwound Ernie Balls for a change. After a couple of gigs i took them off again and put the flats back on ! These flats are just great in a band setting , really powerful and punchy. I also used them for recording our new single 'VivaEnglandia' , i took my P bass with the flats and my Jazz with rounds just in case the flats didn't work too well in the studio. Straight away we got a great sound with the Ernie Ball flats. Check them out , I don't think you will be dissapointed !
