Yes. It weighs exactly 5kg. It's a great bass for the money and mine arrived set up and ready to go with no obvious QC issues. If the weight wouldn't bother you, it might be worth giving one a try as Thomann offer free returns.
Well me being 5'6 and 125lbs is certainly not helping matters. I'm using a 3" strap and was thinking of buying the Gruvgear solo but I doubt it would make a difference.
Just curious, what strap do you use with yours? I keep using mine hoping I get used to the weight but the pain in my shoulder becomes unbearable.
I have absolute admiration for anyone who can stand with a 5kg+ guitar or bass for a lengthy period of time 😅
Hi Lyle
That's exactly the one I have. It's just too heavy unfortunately, my neck and shoulder are killing me because of the weight. It's a great bass otherwise.
I'd love a Warwick but they're out of my budget new. Cheapest I can find is this:

Can't seem to find any used with the bronze frets.
You're probably right.
I've tried to get used to the one I got which is a fine bass but it weighs exactly 5kg and even with a good strap, it hurts my shoulder and effects my hand.
I'm gutted as I had to put new strings on it which cost me £30.

I have a guitar with stainless steel frets and the bass I have now has stainless steel strings on it and I've not had any issues. If I touch anything nickel plated it results in blisters after a day or two.
Hi all
I'm looking for a 5 string bass with stainless steel frets as I'm allergic to nickel. I recently bought a bass with stainless steel frets but it weighs a ton so I'm thinking of returning it. Does anyone know of any preferably under £600?
Hi all, I've recently bought a bass that weighs just over 5kg. I'm currently using a 3" strap but the bass is killing my shoulder still. What's the best strap for a bass this heavy?
