Rehearsal. Now, let me see... Trying to get all band members to attend regularly on the agreed schedule. Once other band members have to'look after the kid(s) this week', go on holiday , or are very sick the momentum collapses. (only my experiences tho') I think regular rehearsals are needed,so that all band members can see how far they've progressed with the songs (or not). If you're of a higher standard ,then regular practice is not needed as much imho
Once a week/fortnight-but we do our homework in between rehearsals then at the rehearsal run through the new stuff, iron glitches etc. new song suggestion come via email so that we all learn the same version-it works for us.
that would be my guess. the output lead can then trail around the back of your amp, and maybe secured to help it avoid being pulled out unintentionally. although maybe there's a more sophisticated explanation.. probably sucks if you're a lefty.
- Oh it does!At a gig,I'm coralled by guitar leads- maybe all the pedal designers are right handed,
Longest in old band was 3 and a half hours, no break!!! Current band 1 x 1hr followed by 1x 1hr 15mins plus encores, my logic is I do this for fun therefore want to play as longs as is possible
up here int north we've played 1st set 'bout 1 hour 2nd set 11/2-2hrs plus encores(especially if its a private do,they want you on all night-mind you I would carry on but the lead throats buggered by then) or until the landlord pulls the plug-residents and all that kind of stuff, mind you It does fly by
I keep wondering about stringing one of my basses up B E A D. Just like the power off the E and A strings, so it might be interesting to see if my kit will deliver same on B. Some gigs that use walking bass lines / root + 5th etc would lend themselves to this tuning. Any one done this, any thoughts?
I tried it, and it was great but it took some serious hours of practise just to get into a different train of thought-and the alternate fingering of the lower registers-but it didnt last-the band i was in at the time and the songs we played didnt warrant it,also i didnt have the luxury of surplus basses that i do now. Now that you have raised the question ,i may resurrect the format again.
