Afternoon All, I thought I'd try a quick post before plunging onto the 'bay for a replacement. Friday nights gig -1st song in My qtron-(the old silver type)decides to throw a hissy fit bear in mind at this point its in bypass mode. I lost all of my tone and huge amounts of volume, so a quick fix is in order-just unplug the damn board-problem goes away-gig done everyone happy. yesterday i thought that i would have a look at the Qtron to see if I could find anything out. Pedal is fine when its engaged-then put into B/P mode and a noise similar to a decaying signal is heard-but obviously i'm not playing at any sort of volume at this time I've opened the pedal up to look for broken wires/dry joints but there is nothing obvious, I havent taken the pcb off yet though. Any help would be appreciated and a circuit diagram if anyone knows where i can download one. Cheers. Trev.
Thats a real nice jazz bass but am only interested in an exchange for a shortscale Cheers
Yes they are really good basses,I played one last month at PMT in Salford I loved it better than the Fender I tried-but I'm a lefty otherwise I would had your hand off at that price.

I bought a pair of Leem Cables about 6years ago-very pliable they are too but mainly for the lifetime guarantee, and they are still going strong, and I also bought a pair of Planet Waves these are also still going but they did bugger up my o/p jacks on my Hartke so i have changed these to neutriks -best thing i ever did-you'd think that Amp manufacturers would follow certain cabinet manufacturers and put these on the o/p of amps to improve the signal quality-give me neutriks anytime.
A lot of the above has tickled me but not as much as this quote from T.M.Stevens, 'John Entwistle told me, “All you guys play this widdly-woo stuff I can’t play, but I’ll be remembered forever because I play songs.”' Each to their own but I'd take his tone anytime from 1969-86 over any widdly-wooer current or deceased.
I concur.... I'm quite a fan of Lemmy's too!!!!!!!
Got mine from Sounds Live about a year ago, great guys to deal with ex demo and £100 quid off RRP. First impressions were good, nice slim maple neck with blocks. (These are not block inlays but appear to have been superimposed in some way onto the fingerboard). I'd like to know how they do that. The quality appears to be high, no rough or unfinished edges and the neck has a satin finish (my preference anyway). The PUPS are Duncan designed (Not Seymours for this price but work very well). All in all unbelievable value for money these squiers. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend. LC
Yep I can totally agree with you on that- I played a Fender jazz at PMT in Salford then switched to the Squire VMJ-and found the Squire felt better made and more solid, the pots on the Squire where smoother and felt sturdier,I',m gonna bag one of these beauties in the new year, I've seen 'em for £235 new. All sorted now- I'll get my coat, Schoolboy error note to self-dont mess with your efx before a gig...... Taxi for the dummy with the bass

Can anyone help please, During tonights gig my Hartke HA2500 decided to lose all of the mids and highs leaving just the lows-although it sounded very bassy as you would assume its not an ideal situation, I immediately changed the output leads from the amp to the cabs-no change there, so Iam at a loss, One thought did cross my mind was what if my treble pot on my bass had failed, but i've never heard that happen-but it felt ok-I will try another bass tomorrow...fingers crossed. any help would be appreciated.
Funny you should mention the psu, I was trying a few options today and decided to isolate each stomp box from the power source and discovered that the noise from the ODB disappeared when I powered it from a separate source, coupling that with removing the limiter from the chain altogether eliminated the noise altogether. It appears that the Boss pedals are more sensitive to dodgy supplies than the rest of my pedals some of which are more expensive ie the 2 MXR's Result....
Oh and thank's for the help guy's
' post='1045708' date='Dec 2 2010, 09:45 PM']All suggestions welcome. The power supply. that's what's causing your noise issues and it's relation to your noisy pedals i.e ODB/big muff. Get a better power supply or power brick and power pedals from the same source.
Evening all! I've just got in from our weekly praccy- And I gave my new pedal board It's first run out. When I plugged it in and powered up there was a high pitched hiss coming through the amp not a lot of noise but enough to annoy-all pedals where in bypass mode. the chain went something like this Guitar --Boss Limiter--Boss Chorus--Boss ODB--EHX Big muff--Digitech Bass Synth Wah--MXR Octaver--MXR Carbon Copy--Hartke HA2500. They are all powered by a 9v 1300ma Psu -ve tip, except for the EHX Big Muff-Battery for now. Now this set up worked fine at home on the practise rig,Obviously the volumes where greatly reduced, A couple things I noticed was that if i turned up the enhance knob on the limiter-the noise increased- I had the knob at 12 o clock, using the limiter on it's own out of the chain was fine. The ODB on the other hand-If you turned up the treble boost knob past 10-o-clock the hiss increased even with the gain turned down to 9-o-clock,even if the pedal was used out of the chain and powered independantly-I've only had the pedal 4weeks from new. After removing the ODB From the chain at rehearsal I still had to turn down the Enhance knob on the Limiter to reduce the hiss. All suggestions welcome.
