  1. Agreed but then it depends if you're looking to spend over £2k or just find a quality 6 string production model for a decent price. I'd either go Yamaha, Dingwall or Sandberg or check out the second hand market for a bargain. Is one chunky truss rod better than two though?
  2. @jahfish @martthebass https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F372631429860 First one to it 😜
  3. Shiiit, knew these basses have been slightly modified since, at least with tuners, necks (frets?), and more crazy colours. But at least a grand more?! 🙈
  4. ..... surely? I love the Performer though, quirky little thing you don't see everyday. Well, not unless you own one.
  5. Lovely basses. Had one of each MIJ and MIM and both great. Not sure why, I did prefer the Mexican model, even if I do wish it was a Japanese one for the price 😅
  6. Still committed to the guitar life with a name like that 😛 Welcome to the forum, we hope you enjoy it here.
  7. Are you paying for delivery and if so, how much and for what? 🤔
  8. @Maude there's always a way around things and it's a shame there's always one who spoils it for the rest but it just seems pointless to sell things on eBay now if you're getting charged on every aspect of a sale. Sale, delivery charge, PayPal... I'll just take things to a charity shop or post it on here 😂
  9. You mean, there's basses that you don't sell?! 😱 😂😂😂 What a beauty, even for without being a burst finish. Let me know when this one goes up 😉✌🏻
  10. I was going to link you to a Second Hand Fender Jaguar MIJ shortscale that was on GAK but has since sold. Great basses, no matter what scale they are. Another good one is the Rascal bass by Fender too, a crazy little bass and so fun to play and so many tones to play with. Looks an absolute quality made bass from Mexico too. 😉👌🏻 Now you don't always see these come up, a bit of a rare beast and when they do, you have to act fast but promising you for £500-650 you won't be disappointed with your purchase.
  11. Is that a thing now? I didn't think you could charge fees on a delivery service, as it would eat into the funds for the service itself.... Which would mean you're getting royally F'ed if you're a seller. I do believe if a seller lists something up for sale and the postage is a lot less than imagined, you shouldn't have to pay anything more than asked. If you ask for an additional service, i.e. insured & next day, instead of the slow boat from China, then you'll probably pay over the odds to get the service you asked for. On the otherhand, if you think they're profiting from the delivery fees, I'd question them beforehand and just make sure you're being charged adequately. No one likes being ripped off.
  12. Mother's day price drop- so you can still rock out and afford Mother Dearest a card and flowers from her favourite child 😉
  13. I love it, it's everything you'd imagine from Fender in the '80s. 😂 The body shape I'd even say is very Parker Guitars too, which is cool. What's not to love about such an instrument, other than there's not enough for one each haha
  14. Glad you're enjoying it, how do you find the 18V pre amp? You certainly look like you're enjoying it 😁 keep the videos coming
  15. Looks great and I bet it sounds immense too. The black and the tort goes well together nicely 😁🙌🏻
  16. Never heard of a bass amp turning itself off, at least nothing that isn't digital Line6/Fender Bronco.... Hope you find out and be sure to post any results on here for anyone else in this situation in future 😁👍🏻
  17. So this came up on my YouTube recommended, always sit there in awe at just how good Mr East is and how funky the BB basses are 🤤 Also saw another video from Bass Musician Magazine where he does drop in about a Silent Bass, headless 5 string (now seen as the recent 6 string bass) and how he hopes to get them into production this year.
  18. Wow, a month into playing and already onto the BassChat forum. It's taken some people here years to do so. So, welcome to the forum! Well done in all you've done so far and don't be too worried over bad habits, everyone has their own way of playing. There's many different techniques and stages. I'd recommend, if you can't afford a tutor, is to get yourself a tutorial book for beginners, ideally once with a CD/DVD (if not digital download now) and see how you get along with what they teach you. Main part.... Just enjoy it. 😁👍🏻
  19. Welcome to BassChat Kalifabass. Hope you enjoy your stay here and some great equipment you have. Would love to hear some of these funky flamenco songs you play 😁
  20. My confusion comes from your incompetence not knowing you're own equipment and not an insecurity of mine, not owning an active bass. I have no need for one when my amp and pedals do the job for me. I know if I need "dirt" that would be to add a little distortion and not to overdrive my amp to compromise my tone. I've invested a lot into my equipment because I know it will do the job for me and never let me down (apart from @AndyTravis BB300 which is a mere trophy for the collection 😜😂) I'm completely satisfied, I assure you.
  21. Still wondering who's having to "put up with a BBP34/35" 🙃
