  1. Welcome to BassChat Kalifabass. Hope you enjoy your stay here and some great equipment you have. Would love to hear some of these funky flamenco songs you play 😁
  2. My confusion comes from your incompetence not knowing you're own equipment and not an insecurity of mine, not owning an active bass. I have no need for one when my amp and pedals do the job for me. I know if I need "dirt" that would be to add a little distortion and not to overdrive my amp to compromise my tone. I've invested a lot into my equipment because I know it will do the job for me and never let me down (apart from @AndyTravis BB300 which is a mere trophy for the collection πŸ˜œπŸ˜‚) I'm completely satisfied, I assure you.
  3. Still wondering who's having to "put up with a BBP34/35" πŸ™ƒ
  4. Betting the Bongo sounded amazing for the Primus cover band and that crazy slap tone. Is it definitely active pickups and not an active EQ though?
  5. Great bass Great price Alright seller πŸ˜‰ Bump!
  6. Well if that's the sound you're rocking on your EQ, maybe this bass isn't for you πŸ˜‚ you've definitely got to feel for the sound than worry about it being on a precise number or rotation. So glad to be rocking passive basses πŸ™ŒπŸ»
  7. Something to do with the number 1 being rather unlucky in Japanese. I'm not entirely sure but I'm sure someone will jump on this. @AndyTravis?
  8. Fat? Dead? Talentless? All? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™‚οΈ
  9. I don't like your Attitudeβ„’ buddy πŸ˜‚
  10. I'd argue for something that's on your bass, gives you more sound to play with and doesn't require drilling a hole or having a need to unscrew cavities for batteries is a winner. Amps and pedals, true point but do you always want to keep bending down to your pedal or run back and forth to your amp? Maybe it's not necessary for everyone out there but definitely something I want to try and see how it works for me, the passive player.
  11. I cry why I see those prices and realise how poor I was to get more of those finishes haha. Gutted there's not enough finishes on the current model range. Seems like there's less, if anything.
  12. That ToneStyler is definitely a game changer, tempted to get one to stick on a P/J bass, maybe even a 5 string 🀀🀀🀀
  13. @Al Krow I wouldn't worry too much over the pricetag as I think you get a lot of bang for your buck with Yamaha anyway and prices often drop lower than the RRP. Pretty sure the BB1025 were RRP'd at around Β£1100 (give or take Β£100) and were selling for ~Β£500 by the end of their model shelf life. Still incredible basses and punch above and beyond their sale price. On the other hand, I've purchased basses in the past that really don't measure up to their pricing. For me personally, Rickenbackers are good basses but not for Β£2k+. Just one example and neither would a Rickenbacker, Sandberg or anything else really do what the Yamaha does for me either
  14. Make it your main bass haha πŸ˜‰ there's a reason for the love of Yamaha's on here
  15. I did find this eventually from looking at the catalogues myself, just got side tracked by some desirable models to report back πŸ˜‚ I'm guessing having the Warmoth parts would be to keep costs down? Top them up for Custom orders?
  16. 'how the dead came back to life after this post. Haha I guess SMV Comment didn't have the answer to the tabs question either or simply misunderstood what the post was about πŸ˜‚
  17. Effort though... Would this not affect the sound too? I've heard about bikers hitting the bars hard... I just didn't imagine that to mean handlebars πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ
  18. Nice looking bass, got those PNUT signature vibes going on for half the price. GLWTS
  19. Think it would be easier to salvage the parts for a new body. Put the old one to rest on a little pyre in the back garden πŸ˜‚
  20. Like a 1950's spinster in the lonely hearts club of the music world πŸ˜‚
  21. I've missed this! Only seen the USA ones recent for Β£1500. This is tempting!
  22. Owned many G&L instruments over the years, from guitars and basses. Would have always preferred a G&L over a Fender but that's because I think you get more bang for your buck and quality is such a difference between them both. Electronics bothered me, not an active bass player and the newer basses support the 18v EQs, so double the trouble for me. If they made passive basses on the tribute series and without breaking the bank or being a Fender J/P imitation, I'd definitely come back to give them a go
  23. I've got no idea, the logo I'd have thought (unless from the old pianos or orchestral) would have remained the same 3 tuning forks or Yamaha font, from instruments since the 60's to now Here's a little page I found on the guitars anyway https://www.acousticguitarforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=250863
  24. That's awesome dude and digging that sound! 🀘🏻😁
