Bill Wyman? π

Pretty sure he has a pick guard for my BB I purchased about 3 years ago π wouldn't say no if he's still got it π€£

I do like the aesthetics of the fender more but I think and feel the yamaha would be one I'd keep. Perhaps find a nice pick guard for it?

Fernandes FRB revolver PJ bass. Made in Japan 1980. Any good?
bigsmokebass replied to BELA's topic in Bass Guitars
Haven't played on but I've heard good things about Fernandes guitars and basses. I believe they make Burny (someone correct me?) Which make superb Gibson copies, some competing with serious money models. Are you able to check it out in person and get a hands on experience? Most Japanese made instruments seem to be top notch ππ» -
Hagstrom Swede or Ibanez AGB 200. Which one would you choose?
bigsmokebass replied to BELA's topic in Bass Guitars
Guild is a good shout but I do like the Hagstrom Viking bass. I know a few players on here will also vouch for Epiphone Jack Cassady too but scale length and handedness may be undesirable (unsure whether they make a lefty) -
I'd look at the Yamaha BB200/400 series. Fantastic basses and got brilliant construction and sound, especially with the B string. Lots of comfort and clarity

Having played a few and not knowing what your budget is, I'd recommend finding a store that has a variety of these models available to try out and see what you think in person and hands on. I understand people like to have "the original McCoy" and pay top dollar, nothing wrong with that but not always to everyone's affordability and some of these cheaper models are pretty damn good for the money and a fraction of the cost of their American sibling. I'd be tempted to give them a go and even report back what you thought π As much as I liked the ones I played (whilst working in a guitar store) I'm not one for active basses, or I'd have one ππ»

Craig is pretty much part of the family now after buying and selling Yamaha's between us over the past year or two. Always a pleasure to deal with and a friendly, down to earth guy. Buy and sell here with confidence! βββββ
