1. Look decent for a bedroom wall of a 13 yo but these look tacky for the stage, inc the fake fender decals. Why go to the lengths when the decals cost more than the instrument?
 2. Bump up for a fab instrument and a great fella To deal with BSB
 3. [s]£750![/s] £675! Hey folks! Sadly this baby isn't being used as much as I'd love to, due to not jamming or in a band- so my little 40W has taken the limelight and I don't want to have it collecting dust or generally ageing with no use or appreciation. I've owned this amp for around 4 years now and I hold it close to my heart as the best amp I've owned and a truly underrated Marshall Bass Amp. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ As far as I'm aware, this is an all valve, Marshall bass amp from 1981-83, making it 32-34 years old this year! It's old by age but it's still an unbelievable force. The sheer fact it's a LOUD amp with clarity and the EQ is second the none. I, personally love valve bass amps and especially for a serious rock/metal/thrash/grunge rig. It's got a lot of Bottom', smooth and varied mids and the High has that *snap* to it that cuts through the mix like a hot knife through butter. On the volume side of things, I tend to put it between 2 and 4 on the dial, loud enough and then everything else to 11 (It's a Marshall! I had to slip it in there) Absolute cracking amp and has served me well in the studios and at home practice and jams with friends. The condition is next to new for its age. Had some new valves about 18 months ago and still going strong. The output is 100W but VALVE, so this thing will blow your guitarists tiny amps away and make your drummer want to play louder. The cabinet, is a straight 4x12, not angled. Which houses 4 Celestion cones. Check the pictures for specific details. Comes in the same condition as the amp, with casters making it glide with ease. Again, for its age, it's really holding it well and for a bass amp- It's not falling away from its hinges as I expect some cabs these days would- at 30+ years old. _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Price: I'm looking for £____ (check start of topic) as it's a full working amp: ready for the road, studios, homes or even practice sessions. It's been well looked after with only ever valves changed. Trades: I'd like a 5 string (pref 35" scale) classic styled four string basses full amps: head and cab or combos. 9.
Nice woods but that is UG-LY! Bet she sounds killer though!
I actually think, give it time and it would grow on you Not the first bass you'd grab, I know but something about this bass is funky and speaks quality

 11.
Jacobs Crackers /knackers? Who knows?
You're spending way too much time on here to know that
 12. There's no doubt about it, I actually just received a Gibson SG bass (short scale) and for a big 6'6" and built like a sh*t house: I actually love it! What could help the sale is more pics and if you can get any footage/sound clips of it. If I had the cash..... Atb
 13. It is a rockbass though, nothing against them but I think some Warwicks aren't short of this price.
 14. Entire trade value of £30 Hey guys, I've a few UK Bass Guitar magazines I need to shift to create some space and a Fretless Bass tutorial book. 15.
Ah, my old one! Was just asking Grae where it had gotten to! It really hurt when I let it go, like the fool I was.
The same here brother! The paranoia of owning such a vintage and quality bass got to me in the end due to where I was living (or who was living nearby!) but damn.... They simply don't make them how they used to! Gary, I think you may have Gus hounding you back for this one but I'll vouch for him as a gentleman as we are ourselves and if you don't sort him a deal, he'll remove your post...... JOKING!! He's a great lad, big and friendly chap like myself and I'm sure if all goes well, you'll have friendship out of it too All the best with the sale, not one to be missed. Grae BigSmokeBass
 16. well, i'll be damned. My deepest apologies & thank you for teaching me something new today! on the plus side, some good free bumps for you there
 17.
That's the way the Stick bass comes strung as standard.
I'm pretty sure they string them correctly in the factory, take a closer look at the lowest string and the way it's wound on Lovely instruments, wish I had the cash spare.
 18. Dear lord, who restrung that?
 19. I've just managed to trade my Fender Jag for a Gibson 2014 SG bass and it's amazing! I've never been phased by the SG/EB bass (other than the SGZ) or short scales but this really kicks like a mule: for a fast neck and quite a thumpy tone What's the EB3 like and how does it compare to the modern relatives?
 20.
Hello Boys... Annie (above) is quite possibly the nicest bass I've ever played - certainly the nicest I've ever owned. She had actually completely cured me of GAS...at least until you rotten sods started showing me all these pictures of SG-Zs!
Welcoooooome to the forum! Where the GAS is never ending
 21.
Not really - I shall cite history - there is no historical precident for LP basses (apart from the Signature, but that's a completely different beast and the Double Cut Jr, which is a bit weird and doesn't even look like the Les Paul double cut of old which it pinches the name from) to have large tuners. Even the earliest Les Paul bass (1969-71) had Schaller M4 tuners. So did the Triumph. So does every Epiphone Les Paul bass. And every Gibson Les Paul Double Cut/Money. If you don't like the plastic O ring, and that's the only reason to change, what about these Schaller M4 Lights? http://guitar-parts....ds-M4-Light.htm No plastic O ring I can see, and 40% lighter than regular Schaller M4 tuners.
I know the signature bass, basically the epi Jack Cassidy sig, never actually seen one for sale- whether they're actually in circulation? They're actually sweet tuners! Shame my LP bass was stolen or I'd get some for that I never have issues with the basses but I feel something about R'n'R basses like Gibsons suit the old school tuners better... Like fender basses, most use the old clovers. Maybe it's just me
 22.
I disagree. I don't mind so much the Schaller BMs they used to use but those Grovers they've been using lately are ears you'd get bullied for at school! Stick out a mile, look clunky and horrible, IMO. Come on, it looks like it could take flight. Do not like. The EB is a brand new bass with no history to contend with. Why clunk it up with big tuners just because Gibson used to use 'em back in the day? My RD, for comparison with the Schaller BM tuners: Look how much tighter into the headstock edge they sit. This is OK for me. But I'm still not putting them on my EB, curse you!
I actually don't mind either design as long as they're the vintage tuner. Yes they may stick out a little but they're functionally sound and I've never had any issues. However, the ones I had on my LP bass (and currently on the EB basses) I seriously didn't like and didn't think suited the bass. I used the modern tuners on stuff like Ibanez, where if the plastic O rings break, it would all break. Would you think a LP bass would suit the schallers like on the RD?
 23.
I'm not parting with this SG Std. It plays so great! I think it's the best Gibson EB0/SG Std. bass I've had in 44 years.
Am I right to believe you no longer own this bass? hahaha
