    There's no doubt about it, I actually just received a Gibson SG bass (short scale) and for a big 6'6" and built like a sh*t house: I actually love it! What could help the sale is more pics and if you can get any footage/sound clips of it. If I had the cash..... Atb

They simply don't make them how they used to! Gary, I think you may have Gus hounding you back for this one but I'll vouch for him as a gentleman as we are ourselves and if you don't sort him a deal, he'll remove your post...... JOKING!!     I've just managed to trade my Fender Jag for a Gibson 2014 SG bass and it's amazing! I've never been phased by the SG/EB bass (other than the SGZ) or short scales but this really kicks like a mule: for a fast neck and quite a thumpy tone What's the EB3 like and how does it compare to the modern relatives?

Yes they may stick out a little but they're functionally sound and I've never had any issues. However, the ones I had on my LP bass (and currently on the EB basses) I seriously didn't like and didn't think suited the bass. I used the modern tuners on stuff like Ibanez, where if the plastic O rings break, it would all break. Would you think a LP bass would suit the schallers like on the RD?
