For the price of it, surely its not worth investing in one and keep your neck on your current Pbass in its original shape? I can't help you with what your after but all the best with whatever you do BSB

Ps: although you may not live near a guitar shop. Search the net for sound/video samples for how it sounds but see if there's anyone on this bass community nearby with either model for you to try BSB

Personally, as much as I love Fender, I think there's better quality in many ways with the Gobson, even down to the hard case/ gig bag included with it. A few things I like about the mustang is the finish won't wear as easily as the gibson, the one pickup has had good feedback so far as much as Fender simplistic design points. Both basses, although short scale have very different features. I'd advise you to try both before buying BSB

As far as I can enlighten you, these [i]where[/i] the current "American Special" series (although I'm not sure if they've changed the finish) and other than the Badass II bridge. They're a bridge between Mexican and American standard series, both in price and quality. Are you sure it's not a beaten up Highway One and he's/she's not looking for a lot more value than its worth? I know Highways where retailing around the £500-600 mark when they discontinued them. Obviously with the nitro finish they where given, they where made so you can get that roadworn look sooner than later but way before they brought out the series. Good basses from what Ive heard but trying to flog it as something else, and, something of a higher price is immoral and I'd wonder what else they'd try and hide. Just me but I'd always try and play it before any trades/sales BSB

I wish i could assist you further but I'm sure someone could explain a better pickup for you. BSB

Personally, I'd dodge this at all costs. If its not something now, something will creep up later. I wouldn't be surprised if the tension finally takes the repair off. For the price, as mentioned. You could get something just as good of eBay or just save that little more and buy it new? All the best and don't forget to try before you buy, BSB
