Looks like it. I prefer the new name anyway. I wonder if they would ever make them as a five string? Doubt it though.
Have you tried them? I know when i did last year they felt hell'a small anyway, i dare to think what a 5'er would feel like :-/ On the other hand, about time for Fender to make a "Highway 1" 5 string?? maybe a chance to market a budget 5 string Precision too? BSB
Coil tapping humbuckers are selling it to me at the moment.
i think that is the only selling point of the EB for me, the rest is pretty stock in my eyes :-/ i think they should have done a red finish for sure. anyone make much of the babicz(?) bridges? BSB

Mr Gus, your very much welcome to come and try when i get mine just a wee travel, thats all. For me, i know theres plenty of other shapes and brands out there but can anything say ROCK! more than Gibson? If everyone gave the 3-point bridges a try, not let it wind them up i think there would be a certain love for Gibson on here. They mightn't be the best or the cheapest basses you can buy but they stand their ground in the mix and i've never really seen them devalue compared to Fender; which must mean something? BSB

just popped a £100 deposit on this to reserve it for the £650 pricing when it comes in + discount has anyone got one yet? BSB

News just in, Grant from DV247 got back to me saying it is £699 RRP and [sup]"Apparently they are in stock at Gibson Europe, ready to ship![/sup] [sup]Unfortunately, we do not have one on backorder, if you 100% wanted one, we’d have to take a deposit and get one shipped over just for you!"[/sup] this is at the Birmingham store, so maybe your local DV247 or alt guitar shop have different plans but you heard it from me first lol BSB

Wouldn't be hard to convert it to a passive by removing the stacked knob and having Vol/Vol/Tone obv it's a lot more than that but the principal is there BSB
Has anyone ever produced one with two P pickups?
I LOVE this idea! That'd be a mean bass! String thru? Brass nut? ^_^ However, what about pushing an idea for a Warwick JE Buzzard artist series (made in Korea)? BSB

What strings come as standard on the fret-king basses
bigsmokebass replied to tommorichards's topic in Bass Guitars
I can only imagine something by JHS, seeing as they make them BSB -
Having tried one, I'm inclined to stick with my old faithfull.
Is that an aria or something?

Just an update: I got In touch with a few UK stores after this bass or whether they knew they'd be getting one in, at the moment it sadly seems to be an American exclusive but nothing to back that up. I have DV247 chasing this up for me along with a UK RRP. I shall repost when I find out more news, fingers crossed BSB
Yup slidy pickup. I love it to bits, my go to bass. So much character, I even splashed out on a second original grabber pup to put in in case something goes wrong with the current one!
That's some serious dedication i eas the same with my G3 although im trying to keep it in the best of conditions but keep it up matey. BSB
Neepheid is currently in the market for one of these (I think). Might be worth sending him a PM. Have a bump on me, she's a beauty. xx
Cheers Stroopy, Me and Nepheid are well aquainted, however his SG would be too small for my big build although it is a real nice bass for anyone after an Gibson SG with all the trimmings and full scale length Much appreciated for the advice anyhow and the bump BSB
That is awesome! Overused phrase, but if I had the cash
I know bud anyone who's ever owned a Gibson knows what these are like, Gibson on this forum being pushed down and overlooked which is a shame. How are you finding the grabber? Sliding PU model? BSB

Just to add: if you click the LP in my signature, it will lead you to some attachments if you wish to see the bass in all its glory. The sale will be for UK only as i lack experience of sending abroad and this time of year being stressful anyway, nevermind wondering if you receive it in one piece. i do apologize. BSB

Thinking Gibson is starting to warm to some people Nice to see some love haha BSB

i find the kelly is set on a different angle, straight sides, sharper edges/bevels and you have access to higher frets from the bottom horn, while the Ex' is much more rounded off. the kelly bird (bass) is practically a Tbird in shape BSB
