1.
So what sort of money are we talking?
Just to state it for now and so i dont get the mods on me. £900?? Still undecided but let me know what you think BSB
2.
I'D TAKE IT OFF YOUR HANDS
Haha smoooooth I'd be selling it than rehoming it, saddle or I thnk you'd get it What's your take on Marshall? BSB
3. I'm exactly the same, Lozz. I find this amp itself versatile for an old valve for rock, metal and even punk and pop (havent ventured far to include any other genres) but I just never hear much from bassists playing Marshall valves anymore. Perhaps due to the last series they brought out didn't go down too well but when you only have a "shabby" budget range and then a top end, I suppose you won't get many people following you. To be fair, if it wasn't for listening to Muse, 'Maiden and knowing Lemmi is renowned for playing them. I don't think i'd have even gone for one, thank god I did but since I think they've moved on XD just my luck?
4. Due to the weight, think it may be too heavy but thanks
5. Hey guys and gals. Just wondered if there's any interest in Marshall bass amps these days? Not that I'm looking to sell, more than, waft the scent and see who comes but I have a beautiful JCM800 bass amp and matching cab at my mums in Liverpool way. Although I love this beast and daren't think about being without it, living over 50 miles away and unable to relocate and use it. It seems a waste letting it sit there. Besides the point, who actually uses them and what's the word on the street about them? Have the days of Rock N' Roll gear died? BSB
6. I still have my Ritter from about 5 years ago, a bit worn but damn, those gig bags are AWESOME! Worth every penny BSB
7. Won't you need Grover tuners and not Gotoh? :-/ BSB
8. I don't know a lot about short scales but this looks tedious :-/ All the best with it BSB
9. £80?! Very nice indeed. I believe Chris from Muse played these at some point? BSB
10. I don't mind them, for me I only have it on my T'Bird and not very often I change much so I needn't fiddle. However, it's really tedious if you want to say: lower the action and alter the intonation as compared to your everyday bridge. All down to taste and if you want to put the hipshot on it. To me, it seems to work well and pleases people but looks a bit out of place :-/ BSB
11.
I think my real issue is that I'm built like an ape!
i lolled because its true
12. Hey Guys This was my bass, really lovely specimen of a bass including all the upgrades Ernie Ball had made on the latest versions, i found this really comfortable to play with the new PU design (now you can anchor down!) and the intonation stayed correct with the new nut for a 34" scale 5 string. The tone is just . . . well, everything "Musicman Stingray", classic yet modern depending on how you wield it: EQ boosted/cut/off is everything you want in a bass. Cannot say a bad thing about this bass other than i hadn't a need for the B and a Gibson G3 being offered i couldn't say no Good luck Gus, although i expect you shouldn't need it. Potential buyers? check out Gus's feedback, he's a genuine, gentle, giant of a fella and your in for a treat with this bass. BSB
13. very weird but cool, never really imagined a steampunk guitar, although i could somehow see Les Claypool having one LOL do you think they'll have much of a sound with body parts cut away and bits of "scrap" attached? BSB
14.
Lightweight could be good, is it a neck diver would be my concern, are the originals?
Just hoisted mine up . . . very little neck dive, if any while sitting on my belly Like Gus mentioned, its a very light bass, practically semi hollow due to the cavity under the scratch plate but i think thats how they're made back in the day, the cavity could be different and better designed this time? we can only wait and see BSB
15.
I recognise that G3! I like the look of these. The bit missing from the specs - at least, I didn't see it if it was there - was the weight. The original G3 I had, and now shown above, was very lightweight next to my Stingrays, and I'd want something substantial I could rock out with. Put me down as interested, mind!
Top bass sir, top bass They look good and decent for their (yet unknown) RRP but will you know what i mean about not looking '70s or as close as "our" bass? I'm pretty sure it will be light, all my Gib's are. The Les is a bit heavy but i think being smallest of all i think the weight isn't distributed so much :-/ Definitely worth a try in my opinion BSB
16.
I like em, I think there is room for a 3 single coiled bass - I've owned a 56' Fender copy and you just wished it had another pickup in the neck and the bridge. However, I'm not keen on Gibson being the one that creates it - I don't have the trust in them anymore, even on the 2010 VOS '58 I tried, the finish was untidy .
I've never had a problem, did you try the '58 before you bought it? Unfortunately I've not owned a electric yet so I'm not sure if quality is any different. :-/ BSB
17.
Looks like Burns pickups...
If anything, they look more like Fender 51 single coils. Different to the "Jazz" looking ones they mounted in the actual 70's basses. BSB Edit:

19. Just got an email from Gibson regarding a bass for thier new 70's series. Can't say they're looking too bad for a budget series, i think your looking for about £700-£800 but quite a lot of cutbacks considering an origional, used one can fetch around the same on the 'bay. I'll be interested to see how these sound and feel compared to my origional '77 but hey, nice to see them bring more basses out Opinions! BSB
20.
They may be, glued neck rather than multi laminate through neck has to be cheaper to produce? I'm going for one, sunburst I think, even though I'm obsessed with blue basses. We'll see.
Just for the fact of being a reissue than a standard model, no doubt a limited series but I'm hoping it should be cheaper but how they've done things with the guitars could be a whole world different to the bass line. Sunburst indeed Just saying, UK members, Im keeping my eye on Thomann than any other UK retailer looking to pick our pockets. BSB
21. Not a big fan of Blue, but it does look pretty cool BSB
22. As long as these are a heck of a lot cheaper than the current TBird, I may be interested. :-/ BSB
23. Hmmmmmm the 5'er is tickling my fancy lol BSB
24.
Buy another bass - kick your girlfriend out - problem solved ! Thank me later !
what he said BSB
