Hey guys, Ive had my Levy's 3" strap in XL length (i believe) and it has served me well the last few years considering i'm a fussy bugger. The only problem is with the material has started to fray and harden: which leaves me with some beautiful rashes and scratches on my neck when i'm rocking out. Looking at the market lately and i feel liked i've missed something, the prices have risen somewhat :-| i dont think i paid £15 for this pretty awesome and durable strap but now im looking over £25 for the same style. Im wondering if anyone could recommend me any good straps to go for, for a 6"6 bulky lad who likes 2.5-3". Webbed or Leather? Thanks for reading and looking forward to hear some of your suggestions. Fender Highway precision one or CIJ?
bigsmokebass replied to highwayone's topic in General Discussion
personally, CIJ, just all round better feel and quality- if this is true or not it works as a good placebo BSB -
That Les Paul bass is amazing!
haha, thanks Cocco. was my fave bass till about 2 days ago but for a good reason nice to own a heady bass too, although not the heaviest ive played, it sustains for ever with the chambered but solid body and thick neck Hows your Grabber? be awesome to see a pic (Y) BSB
That G3 just screams coolness, does it really play and sound as cool as it looks? Is it heavy etc I had one of the update epiphone rippers with the p/j pups but don't get on with it, how's the g3 sound with flat eq?
It's the leader of my pack, the neck is just real cool, not too think like the Tbird, Not a BASSball bat like the LP. just smooth and not sticky as Gibson necks can get but i think that could be from being played and worn down over the years. I've never tried it but i'd say the Epi Ripper, although i came close to purchasing one, could be as close to it as damn it but obv missing the "Gibson Quality" build and sound. If your ever in my area, your very much welcome to come and noodle on it BSB

Would be more than happy to do business with him again and head up for a jam and a tour around York when i have the pennies Thank again and hope you enjoy your MM bass BSB

Hey Guys, I would really appreciate if anyone i've bought, sold or traded to, if you could leave me some Feedback for the transactions. Obviously, If you weren't satisfied with what had happened, i would really like to hear from you in a PM first just so we can settle things on a happy note but i'd be happy for an honest response all the same. Thank you for your time and hope we can do business again soon Kind Regards, BSB

Hey guys, Managed to trade my MM SR5 with Gus's (Gust0o) Gibson Grabber and what a beauty this bass is. For a 1976/77 bass this is in immaculate condition and supplied with origional case and case candy. It has a few of the the smallest of dinks ive seen and slight defects in the finish: which i presume is from the temperature exapnding/contracting the wood over the years but nothing i'd really complain about, all in all i'm totally amazed. The neck is superb, nothing like my other Gibsons. nice to have a rock bass with a lot of bite and growl from the maple frets and the ( Kent Armstrong, i believe) pickup configuration supplying a fair bit of power and an array of tones for a vintage passive bass. Altogether i love this bass, which i haven't long put down and really pleased Gus made the effort to could come drop it off, stay for a cuppa tea and talk some low end for a while. a top gentleman if i say so myself(Y) Pictures i'll upload tomorrow on here and the Gibson Porn thread, so watch this space. Regards, BSB

Hey guys, I've been talking to my friend; who's active in a few local bands in the midlands, playing various genres when we got on to the subject of basses when he said he's had his eye on a Warwick Katana 5 string but wanted to know what i thought. I've never really picked up a Warwick, yet alone the specific model he wants, so i just wondered if anyone had any good/bad points on this bass. Anything is appreciated but more so from people who have gigged with them or owned one for a while. Regards, BSB
Lovely bass, sounds great too, and they did a good job with the pickguard. I got a 3-ply tort guard from the States, which fits well, but the knobs are positioned wrong. Might give pickguardian a try. Does my birthday cake count as bass porn?
Happy belated birthday how'd it taste? BSB
