1.
Heard both, never played them... I'd love to get my hands on a T-40 though!
Like hens teeth?
 2. I think as much as anything and not to side on some of these often smug c*nts but . . . . Jobs? The thing about stores I don't like, especially Dawson's Music, is that they bump the prices up so much, it's hardly worth purchasing anything and I think even setups are to a poor standard for what I've paid and what I've experienced.
Plus, if you buy it instore, then get home and realise you aren't happy, you don't have the returns policy (and if you do, its never as strong).
I know it goes off subject a bit but I found out after taking up a mobile contract at CRAPhone Warehouse and having loads of problems (5 replacements in 4 months all in all) I only have 28 days of returns ect ect where as if I purchased a mobile and "plan" I'd have 6 months of returns or practical insurance, at the end of the first 5 months if I didn't like the phone I could get refunded?!?!?! Suppose what im saying . . . You would think either way, online or in store, being a customer should give you all rights. Pardon me, ramble over ^_^
 3. I have guitar pro for tabs on the move Pretty good app if I say so myself. BSB
 4.
Cool absolute music is like a hour away from me, stringing doesn't seem that much different that the guitar:). You guys had me worried it was something more difficult than that, though I haven't strung a guitar for over 5 years.
Easier if anything Welcome to the bass world and most importantly Bass Chat Word of advice, keep away from the marketplace, you'll get a bad addiction XD BSB
 5.
Who's Ken? Does he like Peavey basses too? I do, I own three basses and they're all Peaveys! EDIT: Not Ken Smith I take it
Ever tried a zodiac dude or a T40? Both are perhaps the only Peavey's I'd own
 6.
Three very different instruments there, do you know what you're actually looking for from this bass?
+1 MM over Fender anyday but also stingray over reflex, IMHO. Never tried a Big Al but they seem pretty sweeeeet ^_^ BSB
 7. Looking pretty damn good, hope they sound better
 8. haha fair play, have you found much use in the 5 string and how well have you played on it? The SR5 is a beast in all respects, like the Miller basses; a good thumper but i just have no use for the B for any genres i play in bands or personal tastes. Just to say, if all else fails, you know where to find me but in the mean time, all the best. BSB
 9.
Hope you're resting that knee... feet up, beer/wine in hand while you re-cooperate.
. . . with kids, he should have one drink in each hand LOL lovely basses, if only i could trade you my EB MM SR5 BSB
 10. Sounds a bit unprofessional from Gibson regarding the finish, I have to say that they are known for their chunky necks which I like due to having big hands . The SG basses are nice, I like making them growl but with being short scale and on a person like me, they look out of place unlike on a Hobbit as Jack Bruce Cheers for your review bud
 11.
Honestly, if I had the money right now I'd take this. It's a wonderful price and clearly a wonderful instrument too. Best of luck with the sale, times are hard!
Cheers matey, much appreciated
 12.
RockBass' are usually available for under US$1k. Is it possible you're confusing the Pro-Series and Artist-Series basses made in Korea? I'd like to know about a dealer selling a RockBass for a few grand...thanks!
You are correct Garey, second look and it's the Pro Series I was looking at, what guidelines do the Koreans follow if you don't mind me asking? I know it won't be like a Chinese sweat shop but just wondering Sorry for the I correction
 13.
Hi, do you have any more info on the bass' condition - it looks pretty much "as new" in the photos but it's sometimes a bit hard to tell. Cheers. By the way, where abouts in Shropshire are you based?
Hi Andrew, The bass is pretty much new, I'd say it looks better than it does in the pictures. There might be slight wear but it's never been gigged and only slightly used. I'm in Wellington, Telford. Thanks for the interest
 14. Agreed the pickups don't line up but considering the sound on the video, it doesn't seem to make a great deal of difference or should it? I think a 5 string version could be cool but a bit too rich in taste for Classic Gibson, considering they bought Tobias who make pretty nice 5'ers. Gust0o, nice G3 dude!
 15.
This is truly an outstanding bass at a very fair asking price. Given different times I'm sure it would have sold very quickly but just not at the moment. Money is tight with the vast majority of folks. The mere fact you have to sell this beauty to fund other purchases is an example of the situation which we all find ourselves in. Hang on in there as surely someone must, sooner or later, stretch themselves to give this bass a good home.
Aye, I know the climate is in tatters and people don't have a penny to share and hence why I'm letting this go so cheap as I paid £1500 just over a year ago and I had this up at the beginning of the year for roughy £1150 with offers of my current asking price. I thought I could have had this sold within a few days to someone who can afford an appreciate it more than I do. Time can only tell what happens but thanks for the support BSB
 16.
Lots of love, but love has no value :-(
Haha thanks ^_^ just for you and your love, £50 off <3 lol
 17.
Ha, that does sound good. Very lovely basses, these Gibsons - still very much enamoured with my Grabber, but it sounds a lot more 'clanky' than the RD.
Which grabber have you got Gust?
 18. Ive seen the Session.de youtube video and although a shadow of the instruments past, I have to admit I really like it and for little more than a MIM jazz I think it's pretty damn sweet. I think it will be one I will get as it suits my sound and it will go nicely in between my LP an Tbird . I know guitars wielding names tend to only sell due to that factor: I love James Hetfield but bigger will I buy either of those FUGLY beasts. And the name on this headstock is bloody ugly too not all that far from the LP sig but i think this is one instrument would sell with or without it anyway. I think if I where to pay the origional RRP I'd give it a miss and save up and get the origional RD from eBay but even then, is that price worth it for an orgional or has anyone found them cheaper? BSB
 19.
you'll be able to get decent secondhand for reasonable price, not as low as a year or so ago but still pretty good. What model you after?
Ideally a Streamer but I'm quite picky LOL Saw a beautiful Red Covette $$ 5 but I haven't got the money and the bloody thing sold BSB
 20. Very true but I like my strings to have a bit of zing and brightness as I find the humbuckers in the Gibsons are quite Mid range dominantated, the MM is easy but I like it to have some nice strings on to bring out the true charactistics (Looking in Marcus Miller DR's) and the fender is easy either way the strings go. If I do go down the route of trying strings I'll start with DR's and possibly some EBs before Warwick, Elixir and whatever else. BSB
 21. Another kudos to Warwick for creating some incredible basses and following strict guidelines from the FSC and making everything environmentally friendly. Cant be easy and especially seeing what sh*t Gibson went through. Any idea if Sam Rivers will be getting a Sig bass? love his Warwick beasts.
 22.
i had a look at an inflation calculator thing.... back in early 90's they cost about £1500 or so right? in todays money thats about £3000 - so not far off todays prices. Why I can pick up a secondhand 1990 streamer stage one in a nice hiscox case for £400 is a mystery i don't complain about!
Fair play but even the (Warwick) Rock Basses are fetching a few grand now, although their quality has improved a thousand times since as far as I can recall, it's just hard to own one of these basses now. Just saddens me that what I *could* afford now for a Warwick, the prices have moved on and even finding a decent enough secondhand Im still looking to spend a fair bit or they're a bit tatty. I just wanna Warwick
