1. sick story mahn, would hate that to happen to me, like my old man says; dont marry haha. really digging this mahn, honour me dibs if you come to sell this =D
2. kudos i think if they stopped the highway one series, put the badass bridge on this series (imo). £600-650 would be more than worth it. if anything it feels like a real top end MIM.
3. well they do say every guitar is different, good squier bass none the less but im more of a fan of the ol' rosewood/ebony necks. thanks for the reply, always been keen on this bass so shall have check with the missus first
4. i just find the quality of stock materials on the licensed fender, gibson, musicman. . . . products hardly ever match or represent the origional to many degrees. i have tried the squier 51 bass and can confirm this to my fender model, fact?! nothing stopping people souping these up over time to make them sound decent but straight away it could cost you almost as much as a used origional. the likes of fenders, gibsons and all the rest are sound investments for live, recording, collecting and even selling as you often get more back than you baught it for. im not saying this is for every case as im sure people do have the time and money to make these guitars sound as accurate as possible and sometimes these licensed products have a tone and feel of thier own making them unique: tokai for 1 example. i've always, upto now, baught the real things as you know what your getting than cheap imatations that dont tend to live up to thier predecessors IMO. lol not looking for arguements, just what i've experienced and my opinions =) BSB edit: take the rickenbacker for example, worth just abit over £1000 3 years back, worshipped as a rock solid bass and now today can sell for almost double. whats happening to some of these knock offs that dont sound as good? sell for about half thier rrp if lucky lol XD
5. i once had a squier VM fretless (practically the Jaco sig) and it had a nasty, plastic/"ebonol" fretboard, it even gave the sound a some what plastic'y tone and not the usual woody mellow sound. how does this sound? is there any wood on the fretboard or a slab of ebonol?
6. haha sorry, mega tired but im sure you knew what i meant though, cheeky i think £160 OR even £225 is the dogs danglers how did you come across these if you dont mind me asking? theyre super bad B-)
7. i suppose you could soup up a squier, no problem with that but it still wont be a fender or sound near enough as good. whether due to my height and size, i dont find much discomfort with the bass, not forgetting i have a 3" strap. i think for a discontinued bass which does have excellent condition, no mods or missing parts and you dont mind shipping local, national and abroad, then there is alot more money to be made than £450, especially now with the new 51 squier out reaching around £300!! i dont want to fill you with false hope as at the end of the day it all comes down to alot of things, who you sell it to being one.
8. imo. all origional and good condition, £600 isnt impossible as long as you know how to sell ;-)
9. i love my 51, got mine new for £450 and it feels like a million pound instead. i wanna be burried with it hahaha. one problem i had was my cat knocking it off the stand and f***ed both the pickup and electronics up- very delicate! if it helps, ive played reggae to funk to heavy metal on it and sounded mint with the SD Basslines replacement though with a big enough strap you dont feel the weight so much. BSB
10. i have to admit im a sucker for the mex 50's and will be getting one soon myself. nuff said ;-)
11. never had a ricky or tried seymours on one but i got some SD basslines on my 51 and on my prev musicman and always sworn by them as the best sounds for bass :-)
12. i have the real deal of this and if its anything near, should be worth atleast double. bag yourself a bargain ;-)
13. didnt feel like £800 worth to me but i have rich taste and quite often too picky for my own good. felt like the headstock has shrunk too O.o
14. im a total gibson whore at the moment but just out my range X-( all the best selling but if you could ever go lower hit me up ^_^
15. oh mahhhhhn!!! 5 years ago 'till not so long ago, i was searching the world for one of these and you cone along with 2 for a mighty price of £ 160!! if it wasnt for having a musicman Sting'5 then i'd be down on this like Bootsy to a sig bass (:-P) but i wish you all the best selling and some lucky buyer will love this/these beaut's. BUMP!
16.
