i think you cant go wrong with a musicman stingray5 and its something you like stock or can mod easily. also, you buy them cheaper today than any other year and IMO the price will slowly rise up, being a sound investment for years to come.

VM by far and now an extended range =] i think if you baught one, you wouldnt regret it.

From what ive read, the Eastwood's arent so great as they appear but unfortunately i cant remember the forum/site i found that on. Gretsch maybe? Tried and tested the Epi Cassady, love it but medium scale, solid body your thing?

Although a streamer, i have a bass GAS on the PNUT sig III. Like machinehead, greatest warwick shape with great feats and sits perfectly in your lap/ to your body. Bad Warwick? erm..... 1st series of Rockbass maybe? -
looks lovely...... what's the volume like ? Is it more for Home practice ? or would it cope with Small gig / rehearsal ? Regards Mark
I played the 350w versions as i REALLY wanted to splash out on one, i personally thought they would cope well with small - med venues due to the size and power of these beasts and the music i played but i think the 150 ver is ideal for a loud jam at home or a moderate gig at a small venue. possibly more so ideal for an acoustic set??? lovely warm, smooth sounding, classic vibe amps with a modern aproach and i dig the use of a 5 string, active bass with it too and no problems . . . if i had the £400 odd pounds, this would be the first thing i baught!! put it that way although it isnt fault with the amp, more so the user, i will advise anyone with one of these to not push all the dials all the wat up as i have seen 3-4 took in for repairs, locally and cost a pretty penny due to "vintage" and uniqueness of the product. So do treat with care unless your made of money!!! -
for me, i took 2. at the time i played 5 strings so i had my main and a spare. once i start touring i aim to take 3.... 1x 4 string (with d-tuner) and 2x 5 strings. . . just the way i roll.

Baught new: Ibanez SRX355, horrible horrible bass that put me off Ibanez for a life time. admittadly, and hence "baught new" is because i soon turned it into a fretless project and made perhaps the best fretless ive played.
-
Fenders and Ernie Balls make great 5 strings and hardly ever over £1K. Stingray 5's tend to go for about £750 and most Fenders for equal or less. Boutiques are always lovely and ever nicer when a good deal but i cant say ive seen many UNDER £1k. Best of luck, BSB

That's fine, i wasnt being impatient, just letting you know that i did PM incase anyone got there first haha It's a shame you wont do that technique, it'd be more my risk at the end of the day but i know you probably want to shift it now instead. Worse comes to worse you know where to find me but good luck all the same and have a free BUMP! ciao

Great FX pedal Baught from eBay new for £120 and played once with a Tesco 9v battery, so about 20 mins play max? Uber fun and versitile with other fx pedals unlike most synths, I've heard it has unlimited sound samples with a Boss expression pedal (both compatable with eachother). I will regret selling this pedal but I'm sure someone else would have a greater use for it. Pictures: will be uploaded at a later date- watch this space!! Reason for sale I'm selling due to the fact i have a Fender '51 Pbass and in my opinion, the sound isn't anything near as clear as it was with my Ibanez, Fender Squier VM fretless (which was a great combi!) and my EB Musicman SR5, rendering this poor pedal useless. [sup]*sniff sniff*[/sup] =[ I was hoping at somepoint to be able to buy another bass and use this once again, so I left it in the box and there it has remaind since. Comes with: origional box, manual (inc 'default' fx samples) and i'll buy a reasonable priced 9v to supply with it. Everything in Brand New condition, not even a speckle of dirt on the pedal!! For specs: please visit HERE Videos: HERE <--- you can see what i mean about modern bass sounds on it Payment/P&P: I would prefer cash and collection but i will accept Paypal, a bank transfer and cheque via post: obveusly all have to clear before a transaction. If your willing to pay postage, then i can send but only within the UK. Otherwise im willing to meet halfway- within reason. Collection: Either from CH62 or the TF1 area's but please state which. Trial Anyone local to CH62 is welcome to visit and try out. Sorry: No trades as it is Brand New condition and im aiming to get my money back or close enough. Thank you, Big Smoke Bass EDIT: soon to be put on ebay, bag a bargain NOW!
