1. I know this is going to sound 'nooby' for someone of my rate of playing and knowledge but my girlfriends 15w practice amp, crafter, packed full of tones, bursting at the small seems. Honestly, i couldn't turn it off when i started using my 51 precision with it.... might get one myself but give it a try if you can find one and wouldnt cost much.
2. Thats so lame, i too saw it in the BGM (UK) and took an instant disliking to it. "Damn Warwick! Why do you have to 'sell out?!?!'
3. PM'd but for everyone else it's a 2003 model and under repair (the nut being replaced) Edit: almost 8 o'clock BUMP!
4. HSS bongo.... count me in!!!! but no love for this bass, sadly. i just dislike the buttons, i guess ok if your sitting at home fiddling about but im a 'live' guy and twiddling knobs can be annoying at times, nevermind poking unessacessary buttons. prefer it with a 3/5 waypickup selector and maybe an active/passive switch but just not buttons.
5. not to be negative but i hated every ibanez SR ive tried, just aint me but the higher end (jap models) sound so sweet and would love to try one. ATK's are perhaps one of the only ibanezs i could own and not get bored of or regret spending a few hundred quid on. "Leo of the 90's" ibanez has been around for decades, older models tend to be the best as far as i've tried but i dont think theyre worthy of that quote IMO.
6.
For Idyllic read Iconic.
yeah, i thought that too but more so for "idol" see? still.... his grammar was crap but i think its worth it, possibly worth more in future to a hardcore collector
7. sounds abit of a cowboy.... luckily its only £50 so i wouldnt complain if you do decide to purchase =]
8. I think if the Squier is too much for you and possibly not your cup of tea, try defretting if you find something you like.... i did this with my Ibanez 5 string and got a REAAALLLLY nice fretless out of it though cacked myself incase i didnt like it. one thing though, if you do decide to defret, i know some ''DIY fretless'' sites recommend using Epoxy glue/resin stuff but it ended up messing my (rosewood) fretboard up but after using super glue and the epoxy (both you can get from the £shop) worked a treat: still holding strong and gives some good sustain too.
9. I personally tried flats and ended up restrining to the old set back on (roto's).... just my preference but i like abit of "bright" with my fretless =] i think it's something you have to try yourself and see what you think, afterall it should be "YOUR SOUND" at the end of the day. All the best
10. Hey Harvey, welcome to the forums. Just my personal opinion: a fretless bass is a totally different instrument than to bass guitar, you basically have to work it for it to work for you or so i have been doing and its great for a play around and experiment with. Nothing wrong with using a fretted or fretless for any genre... after all it could stick, people love it and you get famous lol but just give it a try before you buy ect ect. If you were to ask me what fretless to try though, i'd recommend the (Fender) Squier Vintage Modern Fretless Jazz and work your way up from there depending on your budget- any other bass in that price range i wouldnt touch. Wish you all the best and i hope i've helped ^_^
11. no offence intended but £50 if all else fails and ill pick up, pm if and when your ready but best of luck otherwise. BUMP!!
12. just to say, unless it was pre-xmas pricing, it was going to be around £25-30+, standard delivery, to send my baritone off (being pretty light and not as large as a bass/hardcase) so just look around for a correct price before you put yourself out of pocket + use the post office as a last resort too, i had fun and games trying to send with thier T&C's =] ps: i got a MMS5 i could trade and posssibly pay extra =] PM if interested but otherwise good luck selling. BUMP!!
13. *as compared to a Fender MIM Pbass to an average Squier Pbass though I'm sure the higher range Fender models will have some bonus feat's.. even if its just thinner paint/finish for better resonance like the new american standards. i still think the precision is the best type of bass you can get
14. hmmmm i cant say i've played a Fender, then picked up a Squier and noticed anything better or worse but i love my Squier VM fretless ('jaco sig') and found it alot better sound wise than the MIM standard fretless though i do prefer a natural wood fretboard than a long lump of cruddy plastic -_-
15. Will dance for Fender P'bass V Red/maple
16. lol pure phat bass! would love to jam on that, ass kicking tones no doubt how much did that send you back?
17.
You shouldn't expect them to sound like a Precision OR a Jazz though. Although mine is more precision than jazz.
+1 couldnt put it any better
18. rockbass???
19. lol avoid like the plague!
20. i love Trace' but not too sure on the old stuff.... will have to look and try before buy. i love the hartke sound but thier old models are starting to look old, well duh, and thier new amp heads SOUND great but look aweful, most boring looking amps ever and haven't alot of tone control =/ thank you all for the support =D Its a rat, i bathed it and drying it off in the pic haha love my rats and terrapins (NEW musk turtle today!!) but god..... i'd love to have a chinchilla, they look awesome and cute! prob will get one after my rats- which i hate to sound morbid about >_< but any down sides to them? i know they are prown to diabeties and live till 30 odd but lemme know =D ps: bill hicks ftw my dumbo bath: Bisquit, brown with white belly, Crumble, off white with brown nose (lol) Charliegh, beige with pink eyes. only had them a few months but love them to pieces.

OK feeling abit happier after the last posts, almost finished my ECDL course (WOOT!), got a good weekend ahead and christmas is almost a week away £850 if collected! no less and thats going against my stubborn self. anyone complains then you deserve to be shot £125 less than i first put and im based in wirral/liverpool, north west or at wellington, telford west midlands so im not far away from most of you! Merry Christmas y'all miserable buggers
23. To be fair, i have had a few fenders, squiers, ibanez's and others in the past and had sold them for buttons, pretty much leaving me with not alot to do with*... so im just trying to play it fair with this bass that someone gets a good deal (or atleast IMO) and that i can get another bass after its sold. Like, do you know any NEW & GOOD 5 string basses, better than the MM S5 for £600? seriously now? *With no offence but if you haven't experienced it, DO NOT COMMENT!!! You won't understand what it's like losing alot of money Thanks to Rayman and OutToPlayJazz for putting some light on this thread, not that i dont like opinions, nice to see what you think but atleast someone see's sence in what i'm doing. Thanks to Budget Bassist for welcoming me here, i wouldnt want to be anywhere else
