nice find, do you know if they do the Hofner Club bass in that series?
-
i love the look and sound of the precisions, not so much bothered on the Jazz's :snob: if i were to go for a vintage jazz, i'd go for the classic series, custom shop or buy second hand.

Yes but im not looking for a "quick sale" as such. The 'Sterling' Ray35 by Musicman (£749) is same price or more as most same basses selling on here and of which, alot better than that pile of indonesian crap. I know times are changing, guitars age and people are looking for a good deal too but this is a bass that retails for about £1.5k new and i don't think selling it for £600-£700 does this bass any justice, especially for a 5 string. Im sure you and many others who have read this thread will understand what my point is. Cheers for the comment anyway

Opinions on Ashdown Little Giant 350, please!
bigsmokebass replied to geoffbyrne's topic in Amps and Cabs
can't say ive tried it, is it worth it? i know of the american, Genz Benz, make good but fairly expensive portable amps, cabs and combo's. should check 'em out. -
totally the same as yourself though i dont clean it that often and like to keep it in the hardcase at all times Fender 'Roadworn': i don't see the point in paying a few hundred more for a battered guitar. especially when your paying ATLEAST!! £400 more on the Pbass. Give me £300 and i'll do the job for you

nice guitars and basses but the priuce tag would be the only 'con' for me. are they much different from the anniversary editions?
-
ive never played one supposed to be a recommended bass as far as i've been told, i know chris wolstenholme used/s many. theyre still made from what i know but only by a short team of people unlike machine built fenders, gibsons.... so you might have to buy 2nd hand to get one sooner and cheaper. wish you all the best on your quest and let us know what you think if you get around to get/ play one.

fretless bass- what wood would you choose?
bigsmokebass replied to Dom in Dorset's topic in Bass Guitars
get a bright sound from maple unlike the warm from rosewood, personally i'd use rose' for fretless and maple for the fretted. keep us updated with pictures, would be great to see how you get along and comment -
Ah ok, made me smile, some people slate ashdown a bit, yet if its good enough for Macca, its could enough for me!
yeah but wasnt using the lower priced models by Ashdown, the uber cheap ones are crap but aint nothing wrong with ashdown. i prefer the likes of trace elliot, hartke, fender bassman ect ect but ashdown would be in my top 20 lol

<<<Gretsch Baritone Page + Specs>>> Got this baritone guitar just over a year ago (01/12/08) from Dawsons in Liverpool after I found it hard to put down... unfortunitly with having to look for work or work toward an ECDL lately, i havent got the time to pick it up now. I think this guitar can occupy both guitarists and bassists. It is 4 semitones lower than your average guitar (C-C) and has a longer scale neck giving a lovely and natural bass tone but can get crisp highs too. It's a shame to sell this but it does need a better home than it has already. Pretty much NEW condition other than i removed the horrible scratchplate to make it abit more manly and cant find it now (haha). no marks on it what so ever!!! I'm asking for £200 as you can not get a guitar like this around unless you import and perhaps pay the RRP. I'll try and find a spare gig bag, supply it with the spare strings i got for it (elixers) and a levy strap. IF baught before Xmas, i shall include a small goody bag of guitar and christmassy goods. Hit me up if your interested. *Paypal payment preferd & I'll try my best to get FREE P&P depending on where you are. note: on the picture, the body looks slightly off from your usual Les Paul shape but in person looks normal.

(First of all I shall update this thread with pictures when I get the chance, please be patient) Basically I'm looking to sell my Ernie Ball Music Man Stingray5 5 string (inc straplocks and hardcase), just due to the fact i prefer a passive bass guitar. I've never really used the 3band EQ and it seems such a waste me keeping it and not use it to its full potential. Now, this bass is used but good condition: not saying 'new' but it's not far off, condition wise. It does have a few minor scratches, like any bass and a few dings but no belt rash as you can see in the pictures. I am asking of a price of £975 * just for the fact it's one of the best "mass produced" 5 string basses you can get and I payed just abit more than this just over a year ago, so im not letting it get away easily. Specs: Size: 13-3/8" wide, 1-3/4" thick, 45-3/4" long (34.0 cm wide, 4.5 cm thick, 116.2 cm long) Weight: 10 lbs (4.54 kg) - varies slightly Body Wood: Ash Body Finish: High gloss polyester Bridge: Standard - Music Man® chrome plated, hardened steel bridge plate with stainless steel saddles; Pickguard: Standard - Black. Good strings but i won't change from my Roto's in future. Nice sounding on my EB MM stingray5, Ibanez SRX 5 string or even on my Squier fretless. Can't put them down at all and especially considering the price but nothing wrong with trying, they could be the strings for you! hope this helped

......... 'THE' reason as to why Fender braught out a 5 string precision, maybe? dont get me wrong, back in the 70's it would have been ace but looking at it now just makes me want to cry as to how amaizng it would still eb in its origional form i think it would sound mint either EADGC or BEADG, both got thier pro's and cons for a pbass. anyone got the NEW Fender V pbass? lemme know what you think as i want one and got the money at the ready
