But finally it has arrived! ;-) Mark said he has a bit of a backlog to clear then the build will start... Hoping to show some pics before Xmas :-)
Xmas ?!! Well, let's be patient. It is a matter of days now? Mark do you hear me ?
So... I bit the bullet and placed my order about 6 weeks ago. The wait is absolutely killing me and I had to tell people who understand. It's a 66 Jazz in shoreline gold with desert sand undercoat, matching headstock, rosewood with b&b neck... I'll get some pictures up as soon as it arrives ;-)
Did your 66' arrive at last ? Shoreline gold with desert sand is tempting me... We are waiting for pictures I saw on classicandcool website that a White 66 JB was on the way...

Gorgeous lined fretless bass you have here ! I love these Godin LR Baggs basses I use to own 2 basses, a natural and a black instrument. One day i had to sell my black lady. Splendid Ebony unlined fingerboard. I miss her sometimes. I still play my natural version. Thin JB style neck, quick response piezo system, light weight etc... http://basschat.co.uk/topic/189742-godin-lr-baggs-fretless

Is a '63 Precision worth at least twice as much as a '73 ?
So, as an investment - yes. As an instrument to be played - no.
I agree with that. Check this video under (first 60's basses and later 70's). But still the 60's look, the part of history, the earlies thin necks, etc... I recently bought tc gear (RH750, RS210, RS112). And i spent a long time reading all these tech specs Here tc electronic cabs powerhandling : RS210 : 400w 8 Ohm RS212 / 400w 8 Ohm RS410 : 600w 8 Ohm RS112 : 200w 8 Ohm And each tc speakers are designed to stand the biggest head : the RH 750 This head can drive 3 cabs. I would add 2,6666.... Ohm minimun Check : "Cabinet Configurations" http://www.tcelectronic.com/rh750/ I hope it helps

Hello I plan to sell my Minimark 2x6" combo : 150/250w in 9,4kg. Incredible This little monster sounds great with Electric basses (fretted and fretless). Even with my double bass. Beautiful Lows frequencies comes from this cube EQ options are MarkBass VLE and VPF filters. Very simple to use The combo is in very good condition. I take care of all my instrumnts and gear. Putting this up for sale as i am looking for a bigger (500/700W) Cab and Amp (tc electronic) I also sell my SWR Redhead Combo. Brand new, this MarkBass 2x6" is still expensive, more than the 2x8" which is bigger so less practical (my point of view). I will do this for £360 (490€) plus shipping if necessary. I am in France. I am only interested in trading with tc electronic RH450/750 Amp or 2x12" or 2x10" tc electronic cab. Thanks I will add pictures of my actual cab when i will be home. Happy to give it a try and collection but i can send it . Edit : as i am not home to take pictures, i add a video

Thanks Natjag for creating this subject I am in the same situation. I wish i could know which brand uses LIGHT blue silk for flatwounds (is there someone to help ?). Anyway here what i know because i use these strings on my basses It is usefull to specify which type of wounds : 1. FLATWOUNDS : -Thomastick flats JF 364 extra long scale (44-57-72-96) RED silk on both sides, brass balls - D'Addario Chromes ECB81 (45-65-80-100) DARK BLUE on both sides, brass balls 2. SEMI-FLATS=HALF-ROUNDS - D'Addario ENR 70 (40-60-75-95) NO silk, brass balls 3.ROUNDWOUNDS : - D'Addario EXL 170 (45-65-80-100) And D'Addario EXL 220 Super light gauge (40-60-75-95) NO silk, various colors for each ball - GHS set M3045F For Flea signature (45-65-85-100) RED silks on headstock side only, brass balls I hope it will help

For me, Burgundy Mist (better than Lake Blue) suits really well a Relic finish. Limelight does it well usually, not to reliced. And prices are clever. Tortoise or White ? Take the 2, you will change often and will have 2 basses in 1 Matching Headstock and above all Dots and binding, my favorite combination. Good choices

Thanks for having taken time to check Walbassist You must be right for the narrower core. It means that if i put the Deep Talking Extra-light, i will have this "floppy-string effect"... I never used extra-light flatwounds before and i didn't see these LOW TENSION FLEXIBLE strings in a shop yet, so i ask others bassists. I wish they could write tension for each string on La Bella'site. On back side of the strings box, it is sometines written : for example d'Add... strings, here the verso I am looking for these light strings because my late 80s American Vintage 62 Jazz Bass's very very thin neck can NOT stand big flatwounds. Thanks for helping to care of "Her"

Thanks fellows for posting. I am aware that tension and thickness are 2 differents points. I use nylon flatwounds, differents roundwounds and steel flatwounds on my basses My question is for these 2 Labella sets, precisely. They are BOTH Stainless steel, (check upper). What material do they use to have these FLEXIBLE FLATS ? Is it different with the DEEP TALKING extra light ? That´s why i wish i could have explanations
