2. Tough one , but I'd go shoreline gold.
3. Nice one - just what you needed!
4. Looks good, I actually really like the blingy scratchplate.
5.
Could anyone who's interested please like this FB page for Alan G Parker of "Hello Quo" fame wanting to gauge popularity for doing a similar job on Slade. https://www.facebook...adefilm?fref=ts
Done & liked - would've good to have seen Slade & Quo touring together back in the day --early/mid seventies in Australia I think - that would been a bit on the loud side.
6. I reckon he's made a bit of a habit of this - I was speaking to a friend yesterday who said he'd gone to see FQ at King Tuts in Glasgow in 2003 , and apart from the gig being stopped it seemed like it was the same kind of performance. It's the only gig my friend has ever walked out of, and he is/was a big fan.
7. Ithought Mr Hill's hair style was a consequence of him not really having very much to play with. I'm sure there's a photo of the skinhead Slade about 100 years ago and he looks like he's already losing it then. There's also clips of Slade in the 80s (?) and he's completely bald. May be the Preacher style hat had hair sewn into it, Jimmy wig style? As for Joe Brown, that can't possibly be the same hair he had in the 50's?
8.
I've encountered this gentleman twice. I'll add no further comment.
Do you mean Finlay Q or the less than impressed promoter?
9.
Before someone demands pictorial evidence - my word is my bond!
What about the 1975 hairdo?
10. ...don't... hold ... breath.
11. Yip, fantastic band, saw them earlier this year and would say it was one of my favorite gigs in a very long time . Only saw a little bit on BBC , these boys have style, big time.
12. Getting one when you get there sounds like the most exciting option.. Can you check availability befor you head off?
13. No problem, it was a blast. Meeting a fellow Basschater was a pleasure.
14. Contact made. Work in progress.
15. Happy to give a lift to save a train journey with an amp..
16. I'm in Falkirk too and would be happy to help.
17.
Drum machine - they don't talk back!!
True, but they unfailing play in time. That's just not natural!
18.
All my instruments - basses and guitars - have a strap for each one. I also have custom made straps for some of them, such as yhese ostrich leather ones (made for me by Martin Pryce Leather Artisan)
Lovely stuff.
Each of my regular use basses has its own strap but this is mostly dictated by the hardware on the bass. Some are more colour/ design orientated though: White Ritter has a flashy white leather strap with gold Schaller strap locks Tobacco burst Ritter has a black leather Ritter prototype strap with black Dunlops (one reversed because of the body design) Gold Lull has a dark blue Mono with nickel Dunlops Dark Cherry burst Sadowsky NYC has a Black Harvest with chrome Schallers DCB Sadowsky Metro is the heaviest and has a Comfort strap with chrome Schallers Black Status has a short Comfort strap with black Schallers There's a couple of vintage Fenders that get whatever strap is lying around without strap locks on, lol
Any pictures by any chance? We need to see the straps!!!!
One strap for all my basses as they all have the same straplocks and I've done this to all of them to allow for a quick adjustment if required...
... and the strap, we need to see the strap!!!
19. I'm finding these attractive and a good price. I'm sure I've seen 2nd hand ones asking for more.
20.
What a fantastic song though.
I forgot about this - great song - Billy Bremner on guitar? I'm liking the root note 8 string idea!
21. Enjoying this thread, very much indeed. Look forward to what might happen next.
22. I know many have more than one bass, but do folks have a different strap for each one, taking account of weight/colour, or simply rotate as appropriate?
23. Not seen them , but now want to.
24. Not sure of dimemsions, but they fit nicely in a mim Fender Jazz , or a Fenix . Any use ?
25.
Not sure about the Tort pickguard with it - but with a white one it would be great
I agree with this wholeheartedly ( or a pearl guard). Love the pink/maple combo.
