" Yes,that's right dear. I'm going to strip bare naked, pose in a sexy fashion, and you'll take my picture. Just as we normally do."

Handover between a couple of handsome young fellas Cameronj279 and Donnyboy last night in Glasgow. Estimates are that about 15 bass players used The Bass ( I lost count and missed some , including Cameron using it - bloody traffic/weather/my poor driving etc). This was at Glasgow Kelvin College's end of term do, and good on them for using The Baton, and good on Cameron for getting them to do it.
Same here. I've been wanting to take part since it started, but my band is nowhere near gigging capability as yet (much to my dismay).

I've got no gigs planned but I'd try to head along to an Edinburgh based handover/gig (McNach??) if I was available. He's too nice to plug his band himself but Sea Bass Kid are really good, we should make a basschat event of it if possible!

Snap!!
I've checked with Mr James Ryan, the man who started all this - a live rehearsal / youtube clip / recording would qualify , so no gigs doesn't mean no involvement in the Relay. Don't be shy! -
I,ve got the Fender 45- 100 on my Jazz and I really like. In fact I've got them on my basses, this being my experiment to see how they compared on a level field sort of thing. Imust say I do like them. Good value too (£15?)

I''l be finished with it after the 20th December ,so there's still some time for others to get involved before the 30th. If not , we'll arrange a handover before mcnach's gig. -
There's also a good bit of interest from others in Scotland - stroll on! Here's a seperate thread just to confuse things!! http://basschat.co.uk/topic/224200-calling-bass-players-in-scotland-calling-bass-players-in-scotland/

Well, I'll never know whether I've missed out on something good, bad , or so what. I heard today via the friend of a friend etc who was selling that it's gone. Asking price was " about £25". Oh , it had no strings or control knobs, and something else, unspecified, wrong with it. Thanks for the reply's.

Thanks all. There's no rush for The Bass to be heading off,so an extended Scottish holiday should be fine. EMG456's gig at end of January should be ok. It'll be coming up on the 17th Dec and Cameron and Campbell Owens will use it on 18th in Glasgow, and be using it in Falkirk on the 20th. That means that mcnach could use it on 30th and Beerofthebass on 3rd Jan. If anyone else has anything that's be great. Thanks to those interested but with no gigs, I'm sure if you wanted to get involved or have a shot at a rehearsal or suchlike that's be fine. -

Anyone? -
Why thank you - I've just been doing a bit of Googling. Some seem to say they are real cheap & nasty others reckon they are quite good. I need to find out a bit more, but I reckon it's been well abused/neglected.
-
I've been given a hot tip that I could get my hands on a " dirt cheap" Ventura Jazz Bass, in need of some work. Is it even worth bothering about, my suspicion is that it might be a bit of old rubbish.
